No rule changes planned (in relation to a name change anyway).

I like it better as 8 Ball UK personally.

Would be nice to call it by its propper name but we have all known it as 8 Ball UK for such a long time.

I would like it to be called blackball just because it sounds cooler. but really the name doesnt matter imo

8 UK flows easier than Blackball... And is easier to type.


I wouldnt mind the rename, but between myself and when Im talking about it with friends at school, it shall be forever known as UK8.

If ur gonna change the name u may aswell change rules to blackball rules tbh as ur currently using old epa (most wont know wtf i on bout lol)

Blackball just wouldn't feel the same when looking on the leaderboards

New players to the site might expect the UK 8 ball/blackball rules here to be identical to their idea of the blackball rules. Just a thought

I dont mind either way. But if we are looking to change the name what about changing the table to a proper realistic table instead of the table that is there currently as it is very poor and unrealistic.

Just one advantage I can think of if you change the name to Blackball; It doesn't exclude us Irish and other nations that aren't in the UK!!! It's the most popular cue-sport over here and elsewhere too.
Not that I'm genuinely bothered, just a thought.

stick with 8ball uk i'd say, sounds better than blackball

The term blackball just refers to particular rule set, generally the two official rule sets are World Rules and Blackball.

The game is still called 8 Ball Pool although being played to Blackball rules.

Funkypool 8Ball UK rules is neither world rules or blackball rules btw.
