With 6 people in, I dont know how to keep the knockout sense of it going??

any suggestions? We can have byes, or a round robin, or call it a dead season and us 6 get priority into future rounds under a revamped comp??

i think a revamped comp would probably be the best solution, maybe shorter matches also.....

I like 2 groups of 3

3 Major = Winner of group = major champion
3 Minor = Winner of Group = Minor champion

Both play of In The Super Fianl

that would be the first thing revamped - but the hard thing is geting shorter games, in a very interesting and fun format, that is different from all the other comps.

I like bazzacu's idea too - for that to work, we would need at least two weeks as time zones may get a little out of hand (i think its 5 UK people and me as an Aussie lol).

Any other suggestions?? I will give you guys another 24 hours for more suggestions otherwise I will go with bazzacu's idea of the two groups of three.

EDIT: There are 10 people left in the comp...

So we can go two groups of 5 (meaning someone from the major group will have to go to the minor group) - but everyone playing 4 matches may take a long time.

I think the best soulution is to call this season quits - revamp the comp and start fresh?

Or does anyone have a suitable 10 person comp layout??

is there an equal number of major and minor players???

if not, then put the major players in group of 4 and the top 2 play in the final. (or vice versa)

put the minor players in the 2 groups of 3 with the winners playing in the final!!!

that means there are only 2 matches to be played in groups of 3 and 3 matches in group of 4....

make 9 ball 4 frames - 8 ball 4 frames - 8 ball UK 4 frames - in the event of a draw then 1 frame of straight pool to decide!!!!

from what i believe there are 6 major players left and 4 minor players.

split the major players into 2 groups of 3.

the minor players go into a group of 4.

play each group member once.

the 2 winners of the major group play major final

the top 2 in minor group play minor final.

although i have not updated the website for some time for obvious reasons - everyone who has a game in progress or a completed match is still in - but clockstrikes and filky is also in.

Another system we could introduce is two "Final Five" systems - form a Major 5 and a Minor 5

Somehow, we would have to rank each contestent 1-5; probably just on overall rank.

So here is how it would work

1 gets a bye
2v3
4v5

1 already gets a bye. Winner of 2v3 plays 1. Winner or 4v5 plays loser of 2v3. Loser of 4v5 is eliminated

So lets say 2 beat 3, 5 beat 4

1v2
3v5

Winner of 1v2 goes straight to the final - Winner of 3v5 plays loser of 1v2. Loser of 3v5 is eliminated

So lets say 1 beat 2, 5 beat 3

2v5

Winner plays 1 in the Grand Final


Then the winner of the two comps play in the super cup final.

yes, they will be given priority. But if we were to go in my proposed system, then there will be people that we just can not seperate.

we will see hyow we go anyway. If we were to go with this (which personally, I think is the best way), I will post up a proposed draw which should be agreed to - to ensure fairness.
