With under 2 hours to go till the polls close, everyone is eagerly anticipating the results.
Keep yourself tuned in to the points won by each senator on this page:

Well, I'm gonna be up early to find out who is ahead in the polls (Just trying to think if I have IT tomorrow at school to check ).
Remember, due to many spectacular time zones, some areas still have a little under 7 hours of voting left

Well, i wont say too much, as many know i tend to write essays about the simplest of things so rather than put everyone to sleep with my theorys and opinions, why not stick to the old adage of letting a picture speak a thousand words.

So, its confirmed. Barak Obama is the 44th president of the United States.
Congratulations president elect Obama!
A text message from my Dad (In Geneva):
Welcome to a historic day son, and welcome to a much, much safer world.
(In response to a couple of earlier posts, Sarah Palin as President would be unthinkably disasterous! Well, now we dont have to think )
EDIT: Even though this was an unprecidented night for the number of votes cast, the vote count is only estimated at 130 million. This sounds alot, but in the US, there are 220 million registered voters!

Yep, its not just a victory for Obama, the turnout has been so strong it sends a very powerful message to the Bush camp, and all the companies and groups behind it, that the people have had enough.
Cool!
Cool!

I find it a bit out of place and somewhat disrespectful for myself to have too much opinion about an election in another country, US or otherwise, but then again the US rule means a LOT to the rest of the world as well, so hard to ignore.
Heh, there are world wide celebrations being held!
Get in the spirit Jan!

america made a mistake, theyve basicly elected blair, charming bloke whos policies are murky at best after an unpopular government. obama will be bad for the economy, hes going to raise taxes increase national debt and spend money he doesnt have,a small government is needed right now, i dont like mccain but he was the best option.

McCain had a date set for bombing Iran, you'd think he would need money for it.
Good choice America, daddy's proud.

Lol, both men had their points yes obama the more intriguing one but the real test will be if he actually can stick to his guns and go threw with this change while hes in office, which is my main worry and for mccain well hes definetly a republican lol and he had some good points too, but war isnt really what we need right now but we cant just immediatly put what we already started on the back burner because if we do pull out of iraq iran will just take it over and it will be one big mess but an yways, im glad obama one but at the same time im a little nervous(for lack of a better word) at the same time to see this "change"

firstly mccain did not set a date for bombing iran, thas simply a lie. he didnt rule out the posibility of military action in iran, but it would never happen, unless iran attacked first and i wouldnt rule it out the iranian government are the most evil bunch of religous zealots on the planet theyve made no secret that they want every israli dead, there not victims here. his opinions have jus been twisted by the left wing media in this country in the same way fox in america twisted obamas actions

I dont think the innocent folk over in Iraq will agree with you there. Once the troops pull over there's gonna be civil war for power that has never been seen before.
I'm still so frustrated when I hear people blab on about the "change" farce..can anyone tell me what this "change" actually is?..(apart from the 1st black president of the US)
Complete and utter rhetoric has won over a country that the whole world stereotypes as being the most idiotic race in the world...
I can't say im surprised by the result at all..
