I'm planning to change the homepage for when you're logged in. In stead of the current home page it would show a page tailored to you.

Once you are logged in it would show things like:
- summary of unread private messages
- targets eg
-- "You need to play 6 games more in 8 Ball UK to lose newbie status"
-- "You are 14 wins short of 1000 in 8 Ball"
-- "You need to play straight pool and killer to feature in the overall tables"
- to do list
-- "You need to upload a picture for your profile"
-- "You haven't filled in your details"

Any ideas? Anyone prefer not to see this?

I think that the idea of indicating, to the newer members of how many games they require for their next status sounds good.

Quite often people ask when or how do get Inntermediate or Adept.

Looks a good and promising advancement for the homepage.

I'll bring a good point over from FS. Leave the "how do i take a shot" on the home page for the newbies. But like i said over there, great idea, but will the home page stay the same before you sign in?

It sounds good indeed

I suppose one idea that is not in your post is tournaments. Maybe something like
"You have 12 tournaments left to reach 25 overall tournament wins"
Then go up in 25s, and do this for overall wins and the particular game types?

yeah, just a general stats page.

stats, which friends are online, tournaments avaliable to join, most recent forum posts, messages, etc could all go on there

i like the idea of targets and a personal 'to do list', sounds great

OK then, this is what I would like to see...been thinking about it for a while. I would like an avoid player option on the homepage, or maybe below the ignore list on the left hand side of the screen.

My reasons are;

1. Some players are "not my cup of tea" so-to-speak on this game, i.e. they constantly try gamesmanship like typing "gg" every time you go to the table, or who constantly call you lucky *bleep words* every time you win a frame. I don't really want to play these people again.

2. I'm fairly addicted to this game so just want to play. 95% of the time though there isn't players on here who have similar ranking to me so I often play players 100 points or so below me. They don't believe this, but I am actually doing them a favour since I have to win 3 or 4 games to every one I lose just to maintain my ranking. But I often get the silent treatment from these players. Worse still if someone wins the first game against me they just up sticks and leave, laughing on their way.

Now I don't care if some people think I'm bitter but I would just like to keep a track of these players since I don't want to give them an oppurtunity to do this against me in the future.

Cheers Nick in general though

This is a reply to Walker's post (run out of characters to quote)

A couple of points to bring up;

1) When I was fighting with the big boys like yourself on the US table(those were the days) I always remembered who not to play and who I thought will give me some, not so much easy points, but not so difficult points.

2) The ignore option is their for the exact reason "I don't want to give them an oppurtunity to do this against me in the future."

I see your point though mate, and it makes complete sense. But the option is already there for you to not let them annoy you again, and nobody forces you to click play against those players.
So maybe check your ignore list when you log on, see if they're online, if they are then leave them alone

Just a quick response to sporting's post. There are occasions where the guy logs out or is browsing and therefore I don't think you can put them on ignore in such instances. Cheers for the feedback though.
