It's not a stab at the Aussies more at how they may lack the in dept knowledge of the English game as they are so far away from the home of football and their judgement may be blighted as a result, as we can see from the above comment. I lack knowledge of the game in Australia so I dont make audacious comments about A-league.

Its clear that Liverpool have the weakest squad out of the so called 'top-4' wheras Chelsea have the strongest. Arsenal have the second strongest and Man utd back in 3rd. As a Liverpool fan it's safe to say I'm in no way biased!

yeah i talk about the english game because there is a thing call tv.....thats right tv

i know some things about the english game, and from what i can see Arsenal have a weak team (if they get injuries), man u has a weak midfield and defence but defiantly not in third for weakest team!!!

Losing my one man band? LMAO i hated Ronaldo, yeah i know we aint as strong with him there, but still have a much better team than arsenal ¬_¬

Arsenal have 1 or 2 injuries they will struggle.... people say united have a weak team every year as we mostly start poor and few points behind.... but we come good around christmas time and that's what champion's are made of

Yeah, same old same old with West Ham and Millwall it seems, some things will never change!

As for the strongest squad debate, Man City should be considered along with the top 4...they have solid cover in ever position (well when they eventually sign Lescott they will). Chelsea easily have the strongest squad though, and theoretically they should win the league, but you just never know! Arsenal have a good squad...probably on a par with United. If United lost Rooney through injury they would struggle (I dare someone to mention Michael Owen ), and if Arsenal lost Fabregas through injury again they would be half the team they are right now. United are probably a bit stronger in depth in defence, but that's about it!

I agree with most of the things said there niall... but people put Michael Owen down so much because of his injuries, but you need to think.. his at a better club with better facillities and better training programme.... so he should (touch wood) be alot less injury prone

man utds midfeild is a lot stronger than arsenals niall m8

nani, valencia, scholes, giggs, carrick, anderson, fletcher all have more premiership experience than arsenals midfiled which is cesc, song, denilson, wallcott, arshavin, ramsey cant name any more off the top of my head

so u still sayin man utd are stronger in defence onli?

PMSL...better in depth defense pretty much caps it N. I'll agree.

Blink:
nani, (since when??)
valencia, (yet to show he can fill Ronniee's boots)
scholes, (old)
giggs, (old, but can change a game brilliantly)
carrick (very solid, but needs support)
anderson (even Man U fans dont rate him)
fletcher (Top midfielder of last season)

Arsenal's midfield is:
Fabregas
Diaby
Denilson
Arshavin
Ramsey
Eboue
Merida
Walcott
Wilshere
Rosicky
Nasri

Ill let you add your comments if you like..

As for up front.. Rooney is pretty much your saving grace... Again I'd love for non biased comments regarding strength in depth

ul_son

where is the prem experience there m8?

most of them are jus comin out of the arsenal reseverse

ye scholes is old but hes still better than most of them midfielders you have mentioned there m8.

and mine aint a biased comments m8 cos ive followed barnsley more the past 3-4 seasons than i have man utd m8.

all the man utd fans i know that go to the games all love anderson m8 hes the nxt big thing in man utds midfield.

valencia will neva b a ronaldo there will neva b another ronaldo in footy for quite a few years m8

some of those players are awesome m8. but if sum1 like fabregas rosicky and arshavin get injured round bout the same time none of the young players will not b able to do wat a fabregas, arshavin or rosicky can do durin a game o change it if they go bhind

A wise old man once said...

'I've been playing in the top flight for 25 seasons..but this young lad comes off the bench and runs rings around me...'

Seems SAF isn't too fond of Anderson at the moment....we wont argue with his judgement there! http://football365.com/story/0,17033,8699_5513969,00.html
How long does he want to prove himself...bad smell of Kleberson and Djemba Djemba here mate... tut tut

In a topic that is about 'strength in depth' I believe its essential to keep to topic and look at the facts... Fabregas gets injured and cannot play tonight's game vs Celtic, Song slips in and gives a MoM performance, lucky he was there as Walcott, Rosicky, Nasri all out... ah thats what we mean by strength in depth... Van Perse hits teh bench with Saturday evening in mind..Eduardo pops in for a run about, getting back to full fitness..runs Celtic ragged...have that son! ah thats what we mean by strength in depth

i have to agree with ul_son, i did state before that man u have a weak midfield, simple as that! I think they have enough players to replace rooney for the odd injury, but a long term one man u WILL struggle, but i still stand by my comment that Arsenal is weak when they have injurys!
