I meant you could pick between those two and then separately pick ranked or unranked. Standard game being without calling shots so that everyone who doesn't like it wouldn't have to click one extra time to set up a game since it's such a big deal.

What is it gonna kill you that some players will be able to play the game this way? If it were implemented the way i said, it wouldn't interfere with the way it's played now at all.

becuase you will have a split in one game type over what method to use. arguments would start and there would be a split among members about what game is 'better' or more 'correct'.

personally, I wouldnt want to see it come in right now, there are more important thigns to focus on in my opinion. but if you bring it in, you either bring in 100% or you dont at all, simply to avoid splits among members. (yes, thats extreme but it can happen!!)

It would be especially great for 9 ball, where the fluke factor is so much higher than the other game types.

You have to either put it in or not put it in, the ranks would mean nothing if some are playing, call your pockets or normal, but i am skeptical about this, maybe implement in 14.1 first and if it works and majority likes it then put it on all games!

How would it account for combination shots?

Select all the balls that are going to be involved?

Maybe a button that says "combo" then maybe you can select how many balls are involved

All seems too much for my liking - I wouldn't want to click several balls and a button just for a shot - I see the relevance in Straight, but for the other games I'd say leave it as it is.

Don't forget you can easily just call the shots if both players want to, just as in a real life game.
