err...i think that the overall ranking should just stick to 9 ball and the 8 ball games...the 'traditional' games to keep your overall ranking.

Has this been fixed yet?

I was playing a game of straight pool and beat a player so he decided to leave... the notice came out that I can keep on playing till a miss a shot once I made the shot and potted the ball I got a default win without continueing my run.

The record is 526 consecutive balls by Willie Mosconi. I hope a funkypooler can beat this!

A statistic that would been nice for this game type would be average breaks.
And since this is meant to be (at times) a very defensive game, pot percentage should not be hurt by the first "miss" every time you become active player. I really don't like that stat for this game, since it discourages parts of the intended playstyle.

whilst the potting success rate is superfluous in a game where one of the very few skills required is an ability to play safe at the right time and not leave anything for your opponent

Yes Chris, you posted that while I was editing my post lol.
Agreed completely
A pot % would at least have to be counted from the second shot on, not the first (unless potted of course)

It only means anything at all in terms of whether an attempted pot goes in and since the game is currently incapable of telling what your intention was on any given shot it should be removed.
This might change of course if you bring in pocket-calling when i assume that by playing a safety you would not nominate and therefore any nominated shot would be deemed an attempted pot.

Splash, can you describe in any more detail - did any message show at the bottom?
The only message that came out was 6th consecutive ball and after that it didn't let me shoot and went to my opponents turn, but he said it didn't show on his screen so it just froze like I said.
Don't know if this means much anymore since I had to go but just answering.

How about having the option to make your opponent take the shot after fouling... especially on the break when they play safe and a ball does not connect with a cusion?

When points are obtained and you foul, how come a point isn't removed?
I've just played a game where the winner achieved 35 points, and then fouled on the shot straight after. Surely that should take their score back down to 34?

No because its first to 35 wins the game (which your opponent legally reached) - playing on to try and get a new high score run is irrelevant to the actual game result I would think

I see your point but the rules state that a foul shot is worth a loss of one point. This should stand true when the score is on 35 - if the person on 35 fouls, they should lose one point.
To put it in a different context - I understand that the 8 ball rules say that you should pot all your balls, followed by the black afterwards. However, potting the cue ball with the black does not mean you win the game - so why should that be different for Straight Pool - once you have achieved what you need to achieve and then foul you should be penalised for it.

but the game is won at 35 - i would imagine if and when tournaments come in as soon as someone reaches 35 the game will end without playing on (and they would have to if its anything like a race to more than one due to the time limits)
because in the 8 ball scenario the 8 ball (the 'winning ball') hasnt been legally potted whereas in Straight the winning ball (the 35th pot) was legally made.
To answer the point below - there is no requirement to play another shot after potting the 35th ball.

Yes but under the rules, you haven't legally won if you foul on 35, since the rules state that a foul shot should always result in losing one point.
EDIT: There may be no requirement to play on after the winning shot, but in doing so the player accepts that he or she could foul.
