After watching Denmark v Portugal game, I am convinced Portugal runs diving drills at practice. Almost everyone except Deco tumbled once a defender got close to them...
Croatia didn't look too good against Belarus, good news for all you English people

I think Scotland can do it, just need a couple results to go our way and we might sneak through!

Portugal are the worst for diving. I think they have problems learning how to run, because they can't stay on their feet longer than a few seconds.

As for Scotland's chances, I think I'm going to the match vs Netherlands. It'll be my first Scotland game and my second trip to Hampden after going to last years Scottish Cup semi. Netherlands will be very very tough, but the Scots have the ability to pull a win from nowhere, like the double over France in the last qualifying campaign.

As for Belgium? Forget it, Spain and Bosnia have ruined our chances.

I can't for Belgium. We may well win our last three matches (Turkey H, Armenia A, Estonia A) but we are too far behind Bosnia now. I think Bosnia need another point or two to put us out.

There's still hope for Scotland though (albeit not much)

Only 10 thousand tickets sold for Wales vs Russia tonight, so far. That is less than the Blues rugby team average season attendance last season.

International football has really gone to dogs here. Sad to see as we have got plenty of potential and some great players, but never seem to get anywhere. Also the FAW have really done over the fans with ticket prices, and selling the T.V rights, so now we are stuck with watching English games, with Wales on sky sports extra. Really shocking.

Scotland has the same problem with TV. Most of the time it's England on the BBC, which means listening the the commentators talk about how amazing England are and how they won the 1966 WC, along with calling England "we" (e.g. We're doing well, We're terrible etc), even though a good few people watching don't support them or want them to win.

Scotland game is a sellout tonight. I found it hard to get a ticket, luckily my mate managed to get three for him, me and another mate. Not cheap either - 35 quid.

While ticket prices are well over the top these days, I don't blame them for putting it high, knowing they'd get the sellout anyway.

Well Wales have played some superb football tonight. I hope now, unlike previous times in recent history, this young team build on it, rather than follow it up with a poor naive performance. still very young remember, and with the fantastic under 20's Welsh team, things look bright.

Looks like it'll end 2-1 Russia. What a great game though, actually exciting football.

5-1 England (yay for Eduardo), well done, although like i said earlier Croatia looked horrible in their last game and did today in the defense.
I actually called the score even if it was wishful thinking lol, was telling Mr Pea that I hope Eduardo scores a consolation goal in the last minute when it's 5-0

Croats probably hate a football club in Birmingham called Birmingham City. First Martin Taylor breaks Eduardo's leg and he is out for ages and now Lee Bowyer breaks Luka Modric's leg.

Were reports of a footballing conspiracy of English clubs (Birmingham really) trying to crop their star players before big games

But the BBC are airing to English fans with English commentators, why would they not say "we"?

I'm sure it'd be the same for Irland, Wales and Scotland with their nationalities doing the commentating. Seems to me your complaining about the English for nothing.... again!

England to win the World Cup from here....

Don't you just love humping a good team then failing miserably at the finals!

I heard about that. While it would be an interesting theory, I highly doubt Birmingham, or any English club were out to injure Croatians. At the stage of Modric's injury, England were nearly there and had humped the Croats 4-1 in Zagreb.

They may be viewing to English people, but there are others who may watch it as well. We do get tired of hearing about 1966 (when half of us weren't even alive). It's the same old stuff every year - they think England will win it then as soon as they lose they say how England were never good enough to win it. When it comes to the WC, Scotland, Wales and N.I. are usually not involved meaning we have to listen to them. It's not fun

On the qualifying front - another three teams have qualified, making that 11 countries. These three are England and Spain from Europe, and Paraguay from South America.

Bahrain and Saudi Arabia drew 2-2, meaning Bahrain go through on away goals. Bahrain will now meet New Zealand in a two-legged playoff to decide who will go to South Africa.

Teams that are nearly there involve: Ivory Coast, Slovakia, Chile and the USA.

Portugal, Czech Republic and Romania continue to struggle, while Argentina are having a major fight. The battle for 4th (automatic) and 5th (playoff) involve Ecuador, Argentina, Uruguay, Venezuela and Colombia. A three point gap separates the sides with two matches remaining.

Qualifiers:

Asia

Australia
Japan
North Korea
South Korea

Europe

England
Netherlands
Spain

Africa

Ghana
South Africa (Host)

South America

Brazil
Paraguay
