and we beat Japan in Germany, lost to Brazil as expected but no one in the world expected us to draw against Croatia, or get so close to going further against Italy.

Its going to be more difficult to match Germany, but the Aussies love going in as "under-dogs".

thats for 3 reasons.

1. your under the whol world
2. your the underdog at 3/4 of the sports
3. if you look carefully it says the aussies always are the underdogs its part of the rules in some sports

yet we have held the rugby league, union, cricket, motocycle, netball and womens basketball world championships in the last 10 years.

yeah, thats not soccer, but there are more junior soccer players then most other sports here now. And with the government investing tens of millions of dollars into the game and bidding for the 2018 or 2022 world cup finals, we are going to be a country to look out for in the future.

Dont laugh yet; we made 14th earlier this year, we are now sitting at 18th or 20th....but just watch in a couple of decades

once we hold the FIFA world cup (ok, that may take a 100 years), then Australia will have truly dominated the sporting world.

I think it will be a good test for the Aussies.

Germany will be a tough match...but best to get the tough match out of the way first.

Im not optimistic about beating the Germans, so the Ghana game will be a must win...but they will have the African support.

Serbia...well I have no clue about them - but a win and a draw got us to the second stage in Germany, so I think we need to pick up points from Ghana and Seriba and we should be in good hands.
