Cant open certain pages

Sometimes when i click on things it will take ages loading up a page only for it to be blank.

Particualrly true with the autotrader website. When looking at the main page i can see everything but as soon as i click on more details on any advert it brings up a fresh window with a blank screen- tried refreshing it, turning ad blockers off etc and i cant get them to open.

www.evanshalshaw.co.uk is another. was on there last night and i was looking at page one of a selcetion of lexus is200's....tried to open page two and just kept getting a blank screen!

Any help (particulary spinner or dark_cloud) would be appreciated!

Whats your internet speed? it might just be that, some websites take longer because they have more things on them...

na- nowt to do with speed jack- i think i need to untick a box or tick a box somewhere.......even with the ad blocker turned off i cant open them!

Its killin me because i needa new car and i cant look at the pictures

The only thing i can see on those sites is that the popup windows all use javascript for formatting, so i suspect you have javascript disabled in your browser.

Have a look in tools>options

security Tab

Custom settings and Enable scripting.

it appears to be enabled :S but the word script is in that menu over a dozen times lol- hope im lookin at the right 1.....anything else it could be?

I really cant think of anything, the javascript thing was a bit of a shot in the dark, i just cant see anything about the pages that would make them any different to others!

Have you tried an alternative browser?

strangely my missus solved the autotrader one- she right clicked on the blank page and clicked dont filter this site :S

Ok well obviously you have some sort of filter in place!

Sometimes innocent sites can get picked up by netnanny and the like, which are often bundled with ISP packages.

If you have a look in tools>manage add-ons, you should get rid of anything there you dont know exactly what its for.

Ive had the same problem before Mike, if im right..are you on AOL by any chance?
If so...its them....exact same thing happens too me....cant open certain websites.

Feel free to get rid of all the add-ons then Mike.

If they are things you use, the website will just ask you to install them again (flash for youtube, etc)

I'm assuming you're on broadband so they wont take more than a few seconds to download and install. Sounds like you will save the time by having everything else load nice n quick!
