Nominating the 9 doesn't guarantee the outcome of a game between a higher ranked player and a lower ranked player. The 9 could still settle in a pocket for someone to combo (via nomination). The last player could still miss the 9. The 9 could line up in a combo for someone to shoot. Easy ways for a low ability player to win without firing at the 9 everytime. And it may even encourage people to improve their skills. Aflumpire., you sound like the only reason you play 9 ball is because you can bang away at the 9. So it only makes sense you'd be upset. Maybe consider what it would be like to try and learn the game and develop strategy and skill. Or better yet, just play the horses from now on, then it will be ALL luck.

I do play nine ball with some skill but most of the time, like most players, I just knock the balls around.

I dont come on here for hours to perfect my skills, like most people do. Its not about been the best, its just about having a little fun for half hour.....I only come on for half hour tops every few days to have a little bit of fun and if I have time, see how far I can go in a tournament .

Funkypool doesnt need to be realistic.....it just has to be user friendly so that anyone from a 8 year old through to an 80 year old can just jump online and play.

we dont need little fancy rules to drop a few flukes...it ruins the simplicity of the game

No you come on here for hours to bother me, that time may be better spent playing though. I don't think that nominating just one ball is too fancy or complex. Many players come on for a competitive environment and to try and become better at something. You are right though, some come on infrequently just to shoot around. I just can't see why it would bother anyone to nominate a pocket for the moneyball. So simple, and I believe the pros outweigh the cons. You obviously believe the cons outweigh the pros. There's no right or wrong here (except I'm right). And there's no proof either of us is taking the right stance (except that I am). So lets just agree to disagree (since I'm right anyway it doesn't really matter)

You are a good player and dont want flukes ruining your ranking. I dont like that happeneing either....but it happens to all of us...

but what im saying now is that I do see where you are coming from as a good player (as said above) but im coming from the prospective of an average player....we dont want to muck around with nominating holes. We just want a simple game of nine ball and then move on with our lives without mucking around with clicking everywhere....and glitches may occur....(i know thats a weak point and u have touched on it)

And I still thionk that it would have to be for all balls....I know what your saying and all that about it would only have to be the 9 but it MAY be confusing to a normal player.

Certain countries (like Australia) dont nominate holes in most pubs....I think that nomination in 9 ball if was to be braught in would have to be universal for all balls.
