we arent talking about the american armed forces here ya know, they are an embarrasment as allies.

One case of a soldier mistreating others is more than bad enough. You're right though, mostly the army does a good job.

As for the Americans I swear they think the big red crosses are still targets to aim for...

I think more thought should perhaps go into why soldiers do bad things. The fact they're taught to be ruthless killers being one major correlation. The army are now teaching soldiers morals. Really, they actually have classes, and are taught right from wrong. Although I'm entitled to agree with you, Squeezy. There shouldn't be any cases of soldiers mis-treating innocent civilians. Especially with some of the horror stories you've perhaps heard.

As for the American armed forces and their damned 'friendly fire' incidents.... You do know that Americans can't shoot each other now, they have some sort of radar to stop such incidents. Now if us Brits want it, we have to pay big bucks for it. Fighting on the same team? A cynic might say these incidents are more than the said word..... Although I'm not that cynical!

haha its all right for all you old geezers to say bring back national service but for us young folk...sorry decent young folk its really annoying just hand out better punishments to the bad 1's and no1 has to go to iraq and get shot at by crazy americans with big guns!!

If you mean IFF, that's been around for donkey's. And the RFID tags they use are only really any good at stopping jets shooting at their own ground troops as far as I know.

Anyway, maybe the Americans have stopped shooting each other... but they're still shooting Brits and Canadians in Afghanistan.

i think the answer to all the " bad ones" is to give the police more power, like bringing back bobbys who can hit the criminals, then they are afraid of the police and its a major deterrent, unlike prison which is heaven on the inside, one prisoner has better tv than i do with a ps3 i mean what the hell, the country is too soft.
