hey every 1 ive been playing 8 ball uk for a while now and it seems 2 me tht carrys hav been getting odd. i was ina toruny and i was yellow with a carry and mange 2 pott thte red and remained wiv a carry but later tht day i was playing a ranked game and did tht exact same but ended up giviing away the carry whitch cost me the match so could some 1 explain how it all works thanks

did you use the carry on the 1st shot you played, if not you would of fouled and give away a carry. the carry on the 1st shot means you can pot or use an apponants ball after that 1st shot, playing your opponants ball 1st would be a foul shot
other than that was a blip on the game ?

well on my my 1st shot i potted one of my yellows but i kept the carry then i potted one of his reds but the thing is this things all ways happens it would work then it will give away a carry

you can only pot 1 of your opponants balls on your 1st carry shot, once you have played your 1st shot you can only pot your own colour after that regardless if you have a carry remaining or not, other wise you foul and carry goes to your opponant

I've always wondered why if i get the carry while the table is still open and i pot a red i cannot still go yellows. I think this because usually it's a free ball with the first shot so i should be able to pot what i like without commiting yourself to that colour.

i can see where your coming from there but i think when you have a carry when no balls have been potted the 1st colour you pot you commit your self to as all 15 balls are still on the table at start of your carry shot
