Head gasket goes on around 70k miles on most fiats, other than that could be a fan or cam belt.

My girlfreind has 98, its like driving a tractor, wont sell it though. Your suspension could be bit fecked and the tyre rubbing the inside of the rim.

Just rally it in a quarry for a few days then just buy a panda instead, downgrading is the future.

If its a new belt have you checked the tension?

It could have slackened as it bedded in.

Also possibly a steering pump/belt if you have power steering, as the oil is thicker and more resistant 'till it warms up.

Another cause could be the water-pump bearings on the way out. Did you have the anti-freeze checked?

Ooops. lots of questions! Panda's are awesome quarry cars!

Could be the tyre actually thanks topshot, i'll av that looked at, only had it took off not long ago for new brake pads so they might not have put it back on too well lol, bleedy trying to kill me these people and they are spose to be my dads mates lol

And spinner the belt has been checked and its apparently it's all good. I dont have power steering lol, gotta use my muscles to turn sharp corners and that. N nope i never had the anti-freeze checked just left the thing to manage on its own through the winter lol, that could be the next thing I ask about

Thanks for the suggestions and keep them coming

wont be a cam belt...they dont screech they just make your engine go BANG....DEAD its one of those that needs to get replaced at the correct mileage as it goes without warning.

If your timing is out it will run like a.....well not very well,it will be noticably poor all through the power delivery, infact top end will be seriousely affected,if so dont drive get it sorted Pronto (sorry its the italian influence)

does sound like the fan belt needs another adjustment, as spinner said it is 'bedding in' give it a try, eliminate that and see what happens

wont be anything rubbing (tyres etc) as they would be constant

try this as well
