I've just decided that FIFA 08 is the most awful, cheapskate game ever made. The game play is poor, reactions are slow and you can only score from certain positions!

They don't have International teams on, they have VERY limited stadiums and commentary is always behind, wrong and repetitive, I mean how much money do these idiots make of these games, yet they can't be bothered to put the new Wembley on the game!?

Lucky I got mine free, otherwise I would be really peeved if I'd payed £45 for it........

Think I'll stick to me other games!

<End of rant>

It's EA, what do you expect?

That company is known for suffering from a bad case of sequelitis... or should that be 'case of bad sequelitis'?

Woooaaaah you mean, they care more about money than the game itself? How selfish of a COMPANY...

No need to be so sarcastic, git!

It's not that, it just seems like...well ermmmm..... I know, the Spice Girls reunion tour. It's been done, over and over, nothing has changed apart from they've got abit older and won't put any effort in cause all they really want is money!

Damn you EA, damn you!

Any Rugby games out for the 360?

Other developers/publishers put out good sequels. Why can't EA?

Why should they put more effort in when people are still buying their games, its nonsensical.

Because eventually, the people buying the games will see sense.

Also, actually spending a little bit longer making a game good is cheaper than spending what they do on marketing.

By then they'll have made enough money, and will have released a new set of games...

Oh yeah, they're gonna release a whole new set of games in that extra 1-2 month period it would take to fix.

If you had a company it'd fall on its backside.

The alternative argument is that it wouldn't.
Note how I used exactly the same amount of logic and reasoning in my argument as you did in yours.

At the end of the day, whatever your company does, you have to look after your customers as well as thinking of short-term profit margins.

EA don't, and although I haven't seen any official stats, I suspect you will see EA's market share is slowly falling in relation to it's direct competitors. They are showing some signs of polishing up their act though (Mass Effect, although they could still screw that up a la Medal Of Honor).

Mass Effect? That was developed by Bioware (of KOTOR fame) and published by Microsoft. Where does EA come into it?

You do make a good point though - some companies thrive on listening to their fans/consumers (such as Bungie), whereas the larger companies are more inclined to forget how they got there.

EA own Bioware.

EDIT: Just wanted to add that I know it's only a recent aquisition, and EA didn't really have anything to do with the making of Mass Effect.
It's more the manner in which EA have handled Bioware and Pandemic since the takeover that shows promise (brand new games instead of just sequels/flexible deadlines to get things right, and the like).

Ah, so I (now) see. I still don't feel (hope?) EA had anything to do with it though

John there is no point buying anymore games for the 360.

In April the new GTA comes out, you will be addicted and forget about your family/social life/college etc.

Welcome to the club.
