just an idea......

what if there could be a tourny once a day where there is an entry fee for it......the entry fee being points (say 3 ranking points) for every person who enters. then to the winner goes the spoils by a 10 ranking point increase!

1 tourny a day....every day changes from 8us - 9us - 8uk so there is a rotation of points to earn for game specific players!

your thoughts???

hmm....good idea but as with rank tournament ideas, all the better players will get all the points and run away with more.

yes true alot of good players will join but alot will lose points....only one can win!

and it isn't a 'ranked tourny' - as in u won't lose points if u lose a game like in ranked games

I think its a great idea, one per day couldnt hurt

not saying it is a ranked tournament but it would be like one due to the fact that all the better players will run off with the points most of the time.

its not fair to the others who have to try to beat them.

i still don't see a problem with it....

good players win tourny's anyway, and if u don't want to lose points don't join the tourny!

this is my last post on this thread so im going to go to my point.

its not about the people losing the points, its about the good players like wardsexdog, quick_pot, sanka and all of them picking up TEN points for a tournament win which they have done 10 million times already.

And if its one per day, some region of the world is going to miss out. It wouldnt be England becasue England comes first for this site as it is ran by Englishmen, that leaves the other 2 big timezones between the america's and Australia/Pacific which is also with Asia so some people will be losing out unless they stay up to 2am in the morning.

im not trying to shoot down this idea as I have had ideas that are a little worse off than other forum ideas (not saying its bad either). But this is similer to some other ideas and in my view, I dont like it.

Others may but from ideas of people when talking about ranked tournaments, the pros will always win. So they will here as well.

I think a trial tournament for this idea would be great, just like there was a trial tournament for the reverse tournaments.

i think 4 or 5 of these spread accross different times of the day (to get the whole world trying it out) would be a better option to see how everyone likes it...if at all. i would join

I think maybe a much smaller amount of points required to enter, say 0.2 points per person, and then all the points that have been payed from all the players goes to the overall winner ?

If I had to give up 3 points, I wouldnt go anywhere near the tourney!

Same mate, too much of a point deduction seeing as i usually fail to get past the semi's lol.

And plus this way the amount of points the winner wins will vary, and won't be a massive amount either.

I personally would like to see a tournament every day that if you enter you risk losing .1 points

Its getting towards gambling though...

Bear in mind:

0.1 per player
100 entrants

Means a 10 point win for the winner.

10 points won per tournament
536 tournament wins for quick_pot

Means he 'could' gain 5360 points from tournaments.

It could for good players mean massive alterations to the ranking system. The 1000 barrier would be broken...

The whole point of winning a tournament is to gain that statistic on your profile, add ranking to this and it becomes a battle of rank.

Oh and players who dont play ranked and sit on the 800.00 spot will lose their professional status by simply joining the tournament (they wont be happy )

I think it is a good idea and a bad idea. But if you want tourny rank i think there should be like a time you can enter it at certain time for certain games. For example
