I would like to know if anybody would be interested in a world cup tourny.

32 players needed with 8 groups of 4. I will seed the groups in order to achieve the best games in the later stages. Each player plays the other 3 in their league and the top 2 qualify from the group. 1st group games are best of 5.

Remaining 16 players are drawn into 4 groups of 4 and again each players the other 3 from the group. Each group will be drawn by myself with 2 winners and 2 runner ups from th 1st group stage. This time games are best of 7.

Remaining 8 players qualify for the quarter finals. Draw will be made by myself at random and a group winner will play a runner up. Winner of best of 9 goes intoo the semi final.

4 players left will be drawn again at random and will play a best of 9 to determine the final which will be a best of 11.

Tourny rules

All games are 9 ball.
All games are friendlies.
Results will be found from player profiles.
My seeding is final but will be based on 9 ball ranking at the time of the draw.
Tourny will be completed over 2/3 weeks.
Start time of fixtures will be 7pm or/and 9pm British time.
Each player will be assigned a country but when you email me to state your interest include your choice of country. Your country will reflect your ranking so a 750 rank will not be Brazil and a 900 rank will not be Poland.
3 points for a win, 0 for a loss.
1 point bonus available if you lose on the last game. i.e 3-2 or 4-3.
I will post all results and standings after each game and each draw will be made after the final game has been played.
Only serious players please.
Banned or unattending users will be reported and all their previous results will be altered to complete loss i.e 5-0.

Hmmm, very ambitious... Might I ask though the purpose of providing an e-mail address?

I would only like an email address to send everyone their fixtures and times to be online. If they are not online then i cannot contact them. I do not expect anyone to post their address but i think if they sent me a message i could make sure it runs smoothly. Only an idea though and if you think otherwise the email address idea can be removed.

I would ask for addresses later once all 32 players have been drawn into their groups.

With an email address contact can be made when a person is not online. 2/2 think it is a bad idea so i will alter this part. Thanks for the input as it is needed to make this work well.

No email addresses, just funkypool messages. Do you think countries should be used or just names as it could get confusing.

I have added you to my excel plan. Your seed will automatically be created from your ranking. There are 5 plus myself in the first few hours so hopefully if i keep asking people we will have 32 people by Friday. Ask your friends who are half decent.

Yes you are in. I will update everytime someone new joins. Ask your friends as i would assume you play with good players on a regular basis.
