HI, westcoastpop here (you probably already know that )

Anyway, I'm trying to get to a higher ranking (only 730 =(). so when i make a game, i put 700 and above, to make sure i get a good amount of ranking if i win, and not lost 6 points if i lose somehow. But then ofcourse a very low player comes along and insists on playing and not leaving. so i have to make a new game to get rid of them. Once i had to move games 6 times to get a good match going on.

So basically what im suggesting is that when we create a game, if we choose to, we can put a minimum ranking and a maximum ranking for the player.

I had suggested it before but the mods argument was something like if everyone puts a ban on players lower then say 700 they will not gain the experiance to become over 700.

Despite this i feel its a good idea as they always have friendy's to play higher ranked people

i see your point but then the people under 700 can play other people under 700.

i think tht is a gd idea but wot if i woz under 700 and a friend of mine woz over 700 will i still b able 2 play him??

Yeh cos the minimum dosent have to be 700 it could b 1 lol. if there is such a ranking that is. so it's just for people who don't really want to play people to high or to low. its optional of course.

Bad idea. Completely against this.

I don't imagine this site was set up with the expectation that people will refuse playing players because of their rank.

Play everyone. It's only an online game, who cares?

good point but some people prefer to play people of the same level you know! To make the game more interesting! Would be boring playing someone way lower than you and then winning 10-0 and vice versa, i think there should still be a catergory where you can play anyone to make it fair

I think it should be an option to set minimum and maximum rankings. That way, it's not just the people under 700 always getting discriminated against.

There shouldn't be a no-newbie option. If they're ranked high enough, they can play.

That's a not bad compromise. So that way tables could created restricting only 650 - 700 and so on.

Still think that playing everyone should be more actively encouraged than it currently is. I'm sick of playing newbies that keep thanking me for playing them and moaning about how hard they find it to get a game.

Only thing is people might still refuse to play them even though they've made the restriction (because maybe a newbie joined) so i think they should HAVE to play the game if they set it up, otherwise point loss

Just throwing this in again, as this is the oldest debated subject on the sites by far.

Restricting access to any games for anyone is not desireable. The amount of users who want to be picky about the rank they play is minimal, (only 8 users out of 100000+ have responded to this thread, as an example)

The compromise these threads usually run to is to have the rank of the person currently in a room displayed on the game selection window.

This lets the users who want to be picky about who they play do so, without impairing the game experience for everyone else.

However, i do urge any picky users to take the time to study how rankings actually work, and you'll soon see it makes no difference who you play in the long run

Another thing, I'm aware of the certain percentages taken off your score for not being online, yet i am online everyday and still get the minor point loss?

It doesn't matter if you are online or not, as soon as you get over 800 they will be decreased each day.

If ur online at midnight an u r playin a game when the scores are reduced, u aint lose a point
