Hey all

Who would like to join a UK 8 ball league???

From Season 2 onwards, the league will be divided into divisions, with each division containing 2 groups of 5 teams, i.e. each division contains 10 teams (with the possible exception of the bottom division). Season 1 will be used to decide the make-up of these divisions. From Season 2 onwards, promotion and relegation will come into effect.

Every player will play every other player in his/her group once, first to 3. Where necessary there'll be further games to decide promotion, relegation, and the division winner. From Season 2 onwards, each division will have a winner. If all goes well after Season 1, we might even be able to have playoffs for an overall Season 1 winner too.

Naturally all this depends on the numbers we have, and with 20 players needed to have two divisions, plus the recent history of tournaments here, you don't have to tell me this plan of mine is ambitious! But we'll see how it goes.

sm_rat has a fairly well run tourney that's ongoing and accepts newcomers at the end of every season. Season 2 end on Thursday, I believe...?

I think we're nearly full up. If there's still just 9 tomorrow I'll leave it open for one more player to join for a limited time, but I'm prepared to go ahead with the draw for the two groups tomorrow.
