That game was brilliant! I loved it, the levels, the people, the bad guys, the way they died, it was just fantastic
I still have my N64 in case I ever want to play Goldeneye again

I did say Manic Miner earlier on this thread, but I have to say that while it's definitely in my top 3, its not the best i ever played, that would be this :
Had to save up for the 16k RAM upgrade to be able to play it, and it was awesome!
The very fact it's still in production (though slightly updated!) has to say something for how awesome it is.
Edit - Just thinking - that 16k RAM pack was £49.99, back in 1984. That would be over £100 now, which works out at £6.25 per Kilobyte. So by those prices the 512Mb thats common on graphics cards now would cost £3,276,800
Wow!

Yeh I had that game too - played for hours on it!! Seem to remember you only had 4 leagues of 16 english teams and a handful of non league ones for the FA Cup. Players had made up names but you could edit everything to your hearts content lol
Truly awesome indeed!!
The first flight simulator on the zx81 was great too bearing in mind the limitations of the machine!!
another fave was Heathrow Air Traffic Control on the Commodore 64

Yep, the whole thing was fully customisable, so you could have your own local team trying for the FA cup, which may seem silly now but was radical at the time!
Found an advert with the feature list here too :

lmao its all coming back
I think you were limited to names of a max 8 letters or so for the players and teams - it was amazing how many times Jersey won the league and cup lol
And they had a team of european star players French and Danes from the 1984 European Championship playing for them - and all before the days that the real life premier league got overtaken by foreign players!
Truly a game ahead of its time

I can remember how fresh and advanced the Sega Megadrive games seemed to be at the time - NHL93 Hockey, Desert Strike, Jungle Strike and some really good puzzle adventure games starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck lol
Oh for those days where the controller only had a direction pad and then 3 buttons (A B & C) - theres far too many buttons, triggers, toggles, joysticks and everything else on them nowadays

Ocarina of Time, in my opinion, is much better
I completely agree. Majora's Mask was good too, but I hated the time limit. The only thing that kept it interesting was how certain events only happened at certain times.

Fallout 3 is my fave but before that it had to be Goldeneye. Played on multiplayer for hours.
