For the tournaments maybe you could have some where partners are put together randomly and other tournaments where you choose a partner?
Would be fun to see how someone less talnted does with someone "gifted"!
Would be great fun!

I'm still unsure how this would work as surely it will be increasing the amount of Disqualified opponents, this theory is due to the fact that there would be twice the probability in each game of an opponent not joining the game.
Maybe if your partner doesnt join then you could request another user to participate? (Could cause a lot of confusion though).

My solution:
- if both partners are not online in time for the draw, DQ them both.
- if more than one partnership is single-handed, randomly pair these off together.
If there's a partner left over as a result of this, maybe invite some defeated from the previous round back to take part.
Still, imagine is players A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2, D1, D2, E1, E2, F1, F2, G1, G2, H1 and H2 are into the quarter-finals, and, say, B1, C1, C2, E1 are F2 are offline:
Quarterfinals draw (example):
G1 and G2 BYE - DQ C1 and C2
A1 and A2 vs E2 and F1 (paired together as their partners are gone)
H1 and H2 vs D1 and D2
B2 and X BYE - DQ E1 and F2 (who are gone)
X is a player who had taken part and was beaten, perhaps in the previous round.
Hmmmmm.....

don't agree with X getting a bye having lost previously. Shouldn't he/she be paired with E2 or F1 to make a new partnership with the remainder of either E2 or F1 partnering B2 to get the bye!
Easy!!

Yes, yes, I see... My oversight. The idea was just that that's what a draw mightlook like.
Actually no, your idea is better!
