Man Utd have consistently bought the title year on year by outspending their rivals since the creation of the premiership, the claims that Chelsea have bought the title is nothing but hypocrisy.

You can argue that they also used "home grown" talent and took players through the youth academy but this only counted towards about 10% of their players.

I disagree, Chelsea bought a new team practically buying name like Shevchenko who are big players in the world. Man Utd have bought Ronaldo, when he was a unknown and now a top player. Carrick came in from another English team and he doesn't play alot of international football, so he isn't a big star. Hargreaves isn't a big player either, Anderson and Nani was young talent which he has done with. If we bought players like Torres and Kaka every summer then maybe, but we haven't.

In football circles Ronaldo, Anderson and Nani were/are huge names, What about the likes of Ruud Van Nistolrooy and Juan Sebastian Veron and Gabriel Heinze...? in terms of already proven world class talent..

Basically Man Utd fans are hypocritical, Yes Chelsea bought in a couple of world class proven players...but they also bought in talented youth like Jon Obi(Wan) Mikel, Lassana Diarra and Soloman Kalou.

When Man Utd couldn't win anything they accused Chelsea of buying the title...and to a lessor extent..its happening in reverse, Man Utd fans are still the worst culprits in my eyes.

Its worth rememering the likes of Petr Cech and Arjen Robben were not not strictly speaking "proven world talents" when arriving at the bridge..much like your examples Carrick and Ronaldo

Veron, Nistelrooy wasn't big names when bought. Jon Oni Mikel was stolen from Man Utd. The youngster at Chelsea like Kalou and Diarra hardly play because of the big names in the team. Darren Fletcher is no way near a big name, but plays alot, shows which team has bought the big players and which hasn't

Well football players are over-rated these days. Nothing compared to the prices of Kaka would be sold for, would be in 40's.

To be honest, I'd never heard of Van Nistelrooy, Veron, Ronaldo or even Nani before they came. Whereas with all Chelsea's transfers, how many of the main starters have been at the club since before Abramovic came? Terr and Lampard, that's it.

And the only player I hadn't heard of before he came to Chelea was Kalou.

Don't get me wrong, I really don't like Man U, so this isn't a biased view at all and I don't know exactly why I'm defending them. But hey, that's my view on it.

What Juan Sebastian Veron was one of the best players at world cup 1998 in france unless you people have started watching football after that world cup then you wont remeber him. he played against england in that second round match and was of the argetines outstanding performers. you kids should not comment about anything if you dont know it. as well as that he was voted as one of the best players when he played for lazio under the (snipped) great england manager sven goran eriksson

The only significant difference in Man United and Chelsea is the timescale involved. Chelsea may have acquired most of their team in 3 seasons compared to about 5 seasons for Man United.

Ferdinand, Rooney, Carrick, Van der Sar, Ronaldo were all extremely highly rated and all except the goalie were between £12 and £30 million. Only Neville and Scholes have been there over 5 seasons.

For me, although I dislike Chelsea, it's quite refreshing that Man United have a taste of there own medicine regarding being outbid.

How would you know that we don't know it? Yes, I am a kid, and no, I don't really remember the World Cup 1998 'cause I was only 6, but I was still into my football then, and I knew what was going on. It seems like the only person going about this conversation acting like a kid is you, wishing someone to die who hasn't done anything to you.

Also, didn't Chelsea then splash out on Veron (And not play him, another signing made just so no-one else can have him) when he was well-known? So using him as an example isn't the best idea for Chelsea fans.
And 'One of the best' players when he played for Lazio, fair enough if he was the best, use that as a point, but remember what they say, no-one remembers 2nd or 3rd place.

And as has been said, Veron isn't the only 'Unknown' player from when he went to Man U. Van Nistelrooy, Ronaldo, Nani, Vidic etc.

I've made my points, no point beating a dead horse so to speak, but lets put it this way, if the likes of Derby or Birmingham win the title next year (which isn't going to happen), no-one could accuse them of 'buying' the title in the same context as one can accuse the likes of Man Utd, Chelsea and maybe Liverpool!

Well I hadn't heard of Veron, I don't know about others. But it's not all about him, there have been plenty of other players that have been mentioned but you just seem to be ignoring them? Maybe 'cause you had never heard of them either so don't want to admit to being wrong?

How many players that Chelsea signed had you not heard of before they came to them?

Both teams overspend to a point where they eliminate competition.
