Jaap Stam only cost around £11mil and was a far better defender who didn't have anywhere near as many concentration lapses as Rio does. Even Nesta only cost Milan £20mil at a time when he was the best CB in the world by a mile. Ferdinand gets caught out of position too often and makes far too many mistakes (even this season) to justify a price tag anywhere near £30mil. United got robbed.

The blokes ridiculous, whenever he gets the ball, he hoofs it up field, or tries to go on a run and loses it, i hate him playing for England, Carragher is a far better defender, to name just one!

Scaley, I wasn't the only one that didn't know much about them before they went to Man U, so why do you single my comment out? Maybe because of the word above my post count?

Nah, to be fair, he is a very good defender. Him and vidic were the best partnership in the premiership this season. Ferdinand is very confident on the ball too. He hoofs because he's clearing the ball. Not all defenders get the ball and do step-overs in the box when 4 or 5 opponants are lurking
