just and idea but what about having
seperate ranking system for tourny games.
would be intresting and make tournament games a lil more competetive.
this wouldnt effect any 1's place on the rank table's or overall .
possibly a seperate rank tables for tournaments.

for every tournament you win you will have an additional 5points added , 3 for semi's , 1 for quarters . and half for every match you win up to the quarters.
if you loose your match you loose half a point.

example

uk8
rank - 800
tournament rank - 12
wins - 100
loss's - 100
tournament wins - 2

Great idea! I would love to see this go forward. It probably wont though because it would bring too much information into the game.

not sure they have had a new server etc so maybe that will be able to fit alot more data on it . might be wrong no nothing about this sort of thing.
should be easy to code due to the coding already being there.
would be nice to see this in futrre mabe as part of premium .

i really like this idea i think it would be great but dont think the mods and admin will like it

but i should imagine it would go by what nick like to be fair although moderators/admin might have some form of say about the matter.

The only problem i see, is people who may enter every tournament going, only win a couple of games each time, could end up with higher "tournament rank" than someone who can only get to play 2 or 3 a day, but wins regularly.

Clearly the 2nd player is the better one, so should have the highest rank.

The thing is, any ranking system which works for tournament games simply ends up being multiples of other stats.

That said, what about simply adding semi's and quarter finals to the existing table, thus making it easier to see exactly what a player has achieved;

Tournament Wins - 3
Semi finals reached - 15
Quarter finals reached - 45
Tournament Games won - 150

Yeah I like both ideas however I do prefer spinners for the purpose that it is wanted, just think the rank idea may become very confusing, that mite be cos it is so earlier but still.

But as I said I like the idea of one of them being used.

Spinners idea seems good to me. Not that I'd want to look at mine .

But you would have to have it so it doesnt go minus eg: torny rank -46

so mabye you would have to start out like when you join funkypool, 675.

So mabye start at 100 as you only lose 3 for a tourny loss.

But... what if in the final, the stakes are raised with the loser lsoing 5 or 10 points. Basicly like a double or nothing thing.

but surely then that would be really harsh they have done really well made it to the final and then lose everything they have just earned

I think adding a seperate points system would complicate an already busy (not overcrowded) rankings board.

Spinner has pointed out the problem of the more tournys you play the higher your rank would get regardless of ability.
The solution would be, increasing points awarded as the tourny progresses.
For example, a win in Round 1 would get you 2 or 3 points Round 2 would get you 4 or 5 and so on....

no because personally say half a point for every round you win. no higher no lower gives people abit more a chance to catch up ( players who dont come on as often as others etc )
only way you could get 3, points if you get knocked out 1/4's , 3 points if you get knocked out semi's and final , and 5 if you win the final.

and the rank sitution about people getting higher than the people who dont play as often as some.
dont that happen in all rank though ? also with the point deduction once you get over 800
