FP has been Java for toooo Long, Maybe they should rethink and go to flash, Its faster, More managable and it can look a WHOLE lot nicer without Mega Download time to start with.

Just my opinion as a programmer but its gotta be thought about in these times

flash is very overpriced is it not? don't know about java but that would mean not getting to play pool for a long time lol

Flash, Like java is just a web enabled APP ... the only Price involved is what the authors charge, So no not really.

Hmmm, go to the macromedia site and download adobe flash player for free. Thats what most little games and whatnot are using online. You only pay for software to MAKE the flash animations. Otherwise its free.

Java Vs Flash has been a long standing fight, just like Pentium V AMD ... but at the end of it all, Java is Clunky, Slow, Jerky on multitask... and best of all its a Basic language so it has to be interpreted realtime... Flash is a stand alone, No interpret (Cos it uses its own Reader/Player) its also free to play as is Java... but best of all... its a LOT more versatile and controllable by the end user
image if funky pool was flash ? ... You could "ZOOM" in to the balls to make a precision shot

thats gotta be worth a try.

Moved to game queries, might get a bit more attention here.

I think you're forgetting the whole site runs on Java, its not just the equivalent of the endless flash "games" you see plugged into websites these days.

Most importantly however - if it aint broke, why fix it?

(As for download times - the whole FP prog is only about 300k - some flash adverts are bigger than that!)

nah, not flash, java is much better!

Personally, I would of thought Flash is better from what I've heard from friends. I'm no expert at computer software, but Java seems to be good as Flash. And as Spinner said the site is run of Java and that's running great, so why change it.
