i find people usually do this when they are peeved that u have beat them or they are jusr trying to make you leave it happens on snooker if there is a moderator online at the time just give him a bell and he should sort it out if not just wait.. nothing else can be done..

personally i think that a person who is idle in a game for a certain amount of random shots sould be booted from the room.

This already happens.

But back to what Martin said..

The problem with a boot-button is that it wont solve the problem in hand, that being people who just sit in rooms and dont play.

As i understood it, the change in the game start system was to get around the problem with the 3-ball rule and Golden Breaks, people leaving when they didnt have a good break etc.

Fact is, if someone doesn't want to play, why create or join a room in the first place.

Disclaimer - proximity of kitchen to PC is not the responsibility if Funkypool.

Edit - thinking about it, a boot option for abusive users would be a good idea. With it being made clear that a log of such bootings would be sent to mods/admin to ensure it wasn't abused. however thats a different subject!

EDIT: I think a decline/room-boot button, combined with a room idle auto boot would be great.

No, but as I said above, both will. If the room owner doesn't want to play, he uses 'decline', if he does nothing, then the system considers him idle.

Yes. And when binning the 3 ball rule, it was neccesary to make sure people weren't committed to games immediately, because they might have been unaware someone had entered the room.

So by taking away manual game-acceptance, you're back to square one, albeit 30 secs later.

I wont go back through every point as we could go (even further) off on several tangents here which have been covered elsewhere. For example if the "rank specific" issue is addressed i believe there will be fewer cases of people ignoring opponents.

Your idea would be fine Martin, but i would suggest that rather than the auto-boot, we have an auto-start.

There would need to be a limit on the use of the decline button. I'm not sure how that would/could work though.

Maybe i should have made it clear that my idea wasn't to have the game auto start 30 seconds after someone entered a room, but 30 seconds after either player clicks the rack button.

There can be a countdown similar to that for an invite, therefore giving people plenty of warning.

I'm not being awkward, i'm just keen to go for a system that encourages (by threat of loss) users to keep things moving.

To combat the issue I mentioned then and to tie in what you're saying spinner you should be able to create rooms which don't allow players of a certain rank to enter if that's what you want to do.

I would like to see a feature that permit an owner to kick someone idling his/her game.

Let's suppose that i've created a game, after a game with someone that player does nothing, no chat answers, no challenge for a game, he stay and that's all.

If I should kick him (because decline a challenge request is a different situation) than my game will be free again and i'll can play with someone else.

Obviously if i kick someone in the middle of the game i lose points like i lose the game.

well if the person who doesn't leave in say 30 seconds a boot button could appear but so people wont abuse that button it can only be used about 12 times each day.

basically people would continuously abuse the button if it was put in place.

Ok, then set this button to be available only after a specific time...
