Well a clan is a few people in a team repersenting your country to see who is the best..
its mostly about having fun and a little challenge.

its not playing for you country, a clan can be anything for example we had a modertaors versus the members clan (which we won muhaha)

clans leagues etc... never ever work as people never come online at the correct times.
