i just noticed someone got booted in chat room without a mod being in the room... i always thought if you was undercover as a mod you wasnt allowed to boot... or unless you have seen them do something wrong

can someone fill in how it works please?

If you swear, you get booted, real simple really!

That's it really. If a mod sees you swearing, being abusive or rule-breaking then you will be warned or booted depending on the circumstances.

There are plenty of ways a mod can 'see' you doing this, and lots of methods used.

If you don't swear or rule-break (which applies to 99% of users on here), then you're fine, so nothing to worry about

But, ive seen people get booted when there isnt a mod there, but i knew straight away that it was a mod, so i didn't say anything as i thought i figured out a secret

but you cant boot if you aint on the mod accounts can you?

I'm sure they can. Or they can go onto the thier mod acount and then ban you.

but i didnt think they was aloud too :S maybe im wrong lol

I may also add here, that people can be sitting in rooms PM'ing mods with all sorts of abuse while they're playing a game (happened to me today).

Obviously this is not tolerated, therefore they would be seen to be booted by those in the room despite no mod being there.

But usually, its the ghost...

theres a few ways moderators can get evidence on swearing in chat rooms,if someone is booted in the chat room for swearing is because a moderator is satisfied they deserve it.

but once ive pm'ed a mod saying someone was causing trouble and they said "i cant do anything as i havent seen it"

how does that work then?

the moderator was right to say this because anyone could pm a moderator and say someone is swearing,we have ways of seeing the chat which will catch people out,so its just up to the members not to do it.

I and other moderators dont use other peoples PMs to boot or warn people, We HAVE too see it for ourselves, its like real proof not circumstantial proof, and answering a previous question (from someone else i think above) A Moderator HAS to be in there Moderating name to Warn and Boot
