I know that it happens but when u set a room up for a certain rank, why is it that different ranked eople come in and when u tell them you dont want to play them they insist on staying and hurl abuse at you, is there anything that can be done?

Ya, there's been suggested previously an option to deny players of a certain rank from playing... Seems like a good idea, probably open to abuse hogh if it could be usde during a game.....

Many alternatives have been suggested, i like the relatively simple idea of a game owners rank being displayed, so that if an opponents rank is important to you, you can choose an appropriate game to play.

No I really think the visible rank should be adequate.

The problem with a boot button is the potential abuse of the facility.

I the past these threads usually finished on the note "everyone should play everyone", however since the userbase has expanded this query has gained more supporters.

Having a room owners rank displayed is a good compromise. Those players who do want to be selective, have the option to do so, but others dont have the prospect of being booted from a game room because thier face doesn't fit.

I understand that there could never be a 'boot button' under a players control.
However when you have a game saying 800 and over i think that says it all, you pretty much know the person in the room is going to be over the 800 mark, so in a way your already displaying rank!

The only way to get round it is, either set up another room or wait for someone to set up a game that is a rank you want to play.

I agree with you completly. It is annoying that users don't go away when they aren't wanted and there should be a feature to "boot" unwanted players and the owner of the room should get powers. As spinner said "everyone should play everyone", and if they don't, why did they create a public room, if they want to play certain players. If they don't want to play everyone, the making a room private is a good feature and then they can't be arguments. But i feel that there should be some sort of rule enforced

i like the boot idea, but where are the players booted to? also you should only be able to boot players before the game starts. If the players that got booted could be redirected to the chat rooms then it could be good.

I find this a problem over on snooker. i am not very good so i like to play friendlies and i find that guests leave the game an awful lot. I think there should be a way that you can play friendlies with the option of no guests. This would be benificial for both snooker and pool as the guests i find are far worse for abuse and leaving as they have nothing to lose. the are a few members that also do this but i find they are in the minority and we can send complaints about them.

To clarify what is meant by having rank displayed : i didnt mean in the room name, but having the rank of a room owner displayed so that those who are picky about who they play, who are still clearly a minority, can do so without affecting the flow of the site for others.

The guest thing can be sorted the same way beannie - if you dont like to play guests, then just join games with members in them rather than making your own.

thats all well and good spinner but for some reason because i have professional beside my name alot of member of intemediate and adept rating don't want to play me so either ask me to leave or leave themselves. as soon as the room is availible more than likely a guest will join. with the new suggestions i could either boot a guest or have the option (when creating my own room) to tick no guests allowed or something like that.

maybe for friendlies we could lose what rating we are - personal choice. i'm 800 but play like an intemediate most of the time and today playing like a novice. It would stop ppl getting scared of who they are playing.
