Shouldn't all threads that are being monitored that arent in use be deleted by the relevant mod so people dont get confused by threads about entering tournies which were 8 months ago and havent gone ahead, yet people still enter these tournies

if that is the case i dont think they should i like to read some of the old threads. some are quite funny

Its true some threads could use a little cleaning up here and there, but the old posts shouldn't be deleted because a lot of them deal with problems that are still happening. if we delete all the old threads then we will end up getting the same questions and situation restated over and over again. plus there is a lot of history on these forums, who'd want to lose that!!

I asked this same thing on a thread i created last week!! How Ironic.
Had the creater of this thread had a nose around, like, psmon and i do, then there would of been no need to create this one.

All Capped at least should be removed
(Only the ones created by users of course, NOT them made by Admin / Mods.

I Have Just noticed Stellaman's post on Gen chat refering to jokes thread on fun and games and upon taking a peek.. OMG a banned user has had post after post removed, it looks awful!!
Is there any way that instead of just removing posts, the whole thing could be removed? this would be good for all capped threads and banned users too.
I know it would prob be time consuming for someone, but it would make the forums look a whole lot neater lol.
Imagine what they would look like if i were to ever get banned!!

Serious, thats the only thing letting these forums down..BUT.. admin and mods do a great jobas it is so this is just a query.

I don't really agree there. A lot of very good threads end up capped, either because they've run their course or become a row.

As brighteyes said, there's history in those threads, and it would be a shame to remove them.

The rest of your post has already appeared somewhere else hasn't it? I seem to recall it word for word. If it hasn't, then I've dreamt it, and dreaming JSG posts before they even happen is very scarey indeed.

Perhaps my post should of stated that maybe only threads that have been capped through rowing then...i'm sure people know what i mean.

Even those threads with rows at the end may have had 10 good pages before the one that got it capped. So I don't think they should be removed.

what if.... you have a mod on "clean up" duty every once in awhile, just to skim through some threads to clean them up by removing "post removed " or "deleted user" comments that have nothing to do with the convo...

I just can't see the point in wasting manpower on it.

If they're capped, nobody can recall them, so they're gone. No reason to delete.

If they're old threads that don't look beautiful, then they don't look beautiful. That's not their purpose in life.

And mods are unpaid volunteers, so you try getting them to spend hours on painstakingly boring filing-type tasks, which are ultimately pointless.

Hey, internet forums are great and wiping the history for the hell of it loses it's character. Don't delete and don't even lock threads unless there's a good reason for doing so!
