i was thinking that it would be cool to have
1) A beep, boing, or blink for pm's so you dont have to keep checking them...
2) We should be able to change the type of game without making a new room

As mentioned a long time ago, java can only do so much.

Well if you're using windows then the taskbar flashes orange (on standard theme) tp let you know a PM box has arrved, so i dont really see what else can blink!

I've never seen that before spinner.

Think a if its a new person it does however if it is a same person sends a message it doesnt flash

I presume it is for ppl who like to constantly chat in the windows. I know people get annoyed at me for not paying attention to these chat windows. Hence why I prefer not using them.

Not if you have more than a few dinwos{Windows} open, It goes upwards with a drop down menu (upside down one) with how many windows you have open

Anyways, i'm not sure what you mean since if a new window is added to a taskbar group, the whole group flashes orange to let you know..

yes but thats completely beside the point spinner.

Its not difficult to see when somebody begins a conversation with you. Normally the big window that pops-up in front of the game is a dead give away.

When the window is already open, and they have said something new, you don't know. If the taskbar button were to flash orange each time something new was said it would save us constantly checking. Most convenient and a good idea.

Think of it as a replica of MSN chat.

As for mcquiston's comment about Java, I assure you this is perfectly concievable and I seriously doubt it would take to much work.

I don't see the need for this. It couldn't do any harm but would be complex to implement and in my opinion, nowhere near top of the priority list.

Well all you have to do if you really want it to flash is to close the window. Personally i find the idea f PM's is that they sit quietly and unobtrusively behind the game so you can...

<cont>... choose when you chat.

If it were to flash everytime someone posted something it would be distracting and defeat the point. Almost as bad as a moving gif for a user image!! {that one's for you Tids!}

I wouldn't find that remotely distracting, a discreet orange flashing when someone says something new. With the option to turn on or off everyones happy.

As for your claim that the wiindows pop-up behind the game window. We've had this so many times before so I'll say it one last time, and I mean it.
