just an idea about players ages and swearing during games.
as we all no there are o lot of young players on f/pool, how about having players age next to their user names
e.g - adidas 41 professional, maybe the players who like to swear during games will think twice if they are playing someone like. a.n other 14 adept,we all do the ffs lol from time to time but the swearing i have witnessed on here over the last couple of weeks has been appalling, 1 reason why i wont let my daughter play . maybe start the age thing from sign up, if no age put, then membership is invalid till done,
please post your thoughts on this matter, and btw, i cant see why players dont put there age there is no disgrace in this
maybe a weeks ban 4 players who continually swear, {obviously done by complaints button}

Yeah might make people more aware of what theyre saying in the game if there are younger ones about, but there will always be those who aim to cause trouble and so on

The 'no swearing / abusive language rule' applies to everyone. The Funkypool staff show no tolerance whatsoever (and rightfully so) towards abusive language and swearing. The ages are irrelevant, and I doubt that the ages will stop an user from swearing at another user.

I understand the idea, but this would lead to users thinking that it would be 'OK' to swear at the 'older' users, and therefore would probably make things even worse!

not a bad idea at all, cant guarantee people wil put there correct age though
I dont see the disgrace putting age either ....after all im 21.....errr i mean 39 lol.

maybe more mods needed to be employed to police the abusive half wits who find it big and hard to swear while being safely tucked hiding behind there computers

There are already auto-bans in place (unless somethigns changed)..

The swearing issue has reared its head in the forum too recently, and its so ironic that the perpetrators are almost all 18 or over.

The irony is that most pre or early teenagers will see thier behavior as childish!

Nice simple idea though, but many do like to keep thier age private and have the right to do so.

Main thing is always to report swearing so the mods can take appropriate action.

Ye I'm not keen on giving out my age, not really sure why it's no big secret but I don't want to be forced to so a couple of people can curse!

Whats the satisfaction in a certain order of keys pressed?!

I Agree with danclivo...though as a "Swearer" (Sorry) I have been known to ask people's ages BEFORE Ive swore!

jsg don't be admitting it lol..

In honesty, there is no harm in to known friends cursing between each other when noone else is about. Admin and moderators don't take action in these circumstances, how could we?

But you can't know they're age, especially in the chat rooms with 50 odd people. Although it could be feasible it would lax the existing rules and demean the overall attempt at keeping this site clean.

I give it a firm no vote!

Let the users decided what swearing they see on screen. And possibly make it so that underage players can'tchange this option from total censorship of profanity to no censorship.

very good idea cloone! My suggestion isnt for the swearing as such but it is for the younger players. Remove the link feature! II was sat in the chat room last night (around 7-9 time) and there was a convo going on about a vig big topic in the news. one user asked where they could watch it and get it on their phone and another user posted the link. Their were probably a good few youngers clicking on that link and if my brother saw that i would go up the wall. I looked for a mod but their werent any. I didnt bother to send a complaint as there was no swearing and nobody was technically doing anything wrong. Ppl will always get round the swear filter and find rude and wrong things to do but funkypool should not hand it to them on a plate. Links were a good idea in theory but will and have been abused.
