I had a dream that an administrator on this website's forum introduced a credit system.

The game was broken into two versions:

a.) A fun version where you play for fun/free like we all do right now with little change.

b.) A version you can only participate in when you purchase credits needed to play the exhibition games & enter tournaments to compete for rank optimization as well as a credit jackpot.

5 days after purchase of credits, players can tranfer credits into money for withdrawal - with an automated, small percentage fee charged on every transaction to maintain the website & its credit system in light of relying on ad revenue.

All banned users forfeit their credit.

Decent players with a solid internet connection could make their living here while supporting the maintenance of the entire system simultaneously.

So I guess now I have one question: Has this idea been introduced before? (if so, I apologize for reposting.)

Happy New Year everyone.
:D

It is a great Idea and has been implemented with what looks like success on other sites. I would love to see this happen but really couldn't see it in the near future. I certainly think the first direct revenue will come from premium and after that who knows!

There are lots of legalities in introducing this as it is considered gambling. The server is in america where in many states that is illegal.

lol last night i was a charlie's angel, but your dream sounds so much better!! this kinda scares me though, because some people will be addicted to funkypool, and then we will have a bunch of moaning wives on the site saying we've turned their husbands into gambling zombies!

Firstly, thanks to everyone for the comments.

magicblack: I'm sure there will a lot of hurdles to jump over before implementing an idea like gambling. I also was not aware that the servers are American-based. Hrhr.

But I have to admit my infatuation with the idea of buying, gambling & selling credits. :)

spinner: Thanks for the comment. Whenever I make large suggestions like this, I like to highlight beneficial advantages for everyone involved, included the site's administration itself.

a.) If you were 2 years older I'd take you out for some hot cocoa. I happen to like angels as long as their chicks & don't have wings growing from their backs.

b.) People are already addicted zombies here. ;)

I think this is a bad road to go down, and i believe you would have to remove the fun from funky! My personal feelings on gambling is that it's a bad thing, just like most addictions!

Maybe I'm a prude & have been rated to be 49% impure, but I like this bad side - quite much. :D

But I don't think the fun would have to be removed from funkypool. Reason being is almost every successful online casino (e.g.) has a fun version & a real money version for enticement - and has been this way for quite a while.

Thanks to you 1_eye & stevo15 for your comments.

Theres no question of that it will always be free here. Like premium there is an additional aspect which will involve the exchange of currency!

Most people on this site are of a young age and incouraging them to gamble wouldn't be a good idea in my view. And if it was brought in how many people would actually use it? I dont think many people would want to lose there money when they can play on this site for free.

Hu, you're probably right about that.

The only problem is that with me being a bit *new*, hrhr, I don't know who said it or where - which is why I thought I'd apologize in advance if this was brought it before.

Although, even with a premium version or a credit system, it would always be free to play. :)

Its a nice idea and could integrate easily with the free game (just a button to chose whether to play for credit as well as rank)

For example tournaments : only half the players agree to play for credit, but everyone plays as normal, however if one of those playing for credit wins, they get the prize.

Actually i think the word "gamble" is wrong here, since you would not be risking money for a reward via chance, but playing a sport for a prize. Just like a school sports day! and i cant see them being banned anytime soon..

I like the idea, but I think moderating it would have to be very stringent.

Issues such as multi-entering tournies and spamming on the black are going to be huge, potentially legal, issues when people are losing money through it.

i like the idea but isn't it taking the game to the next level so to speak and it is also influencing gambling.

Imagine all the other darksides we haven't thought of yet! heh.

The ToS would definitely have to be revised - as well as "responsible playing" announcements & the like.

The fact that its a credit-based program with the win/loss ratio dependent on player performance and internet connection (not scripts), it could introduce an entire niche of site visitors outside that of young players.

New abilities, such as disabling chat messages in game rooms to prevent malicious flooding during gameplay, would go into high-demand.

A friendly guide about credit management (as well as topics based on credit issues) on would likely need to be introduced.

Its definitely going to the next level. I still like the whole concept behind it, despite its apparent string of new challenges.

Thanks for the comments everyone. :-)

Hmmm sin, is this the bit where you tell us you just so happen to run a string of gambling websites, and that you think you may be able to help get this thing running

PS - In your dream, it didn't mention me losing all my money to _meh_ did it ?
