Yet more evidence in the argument for getting rid of the delete button..

The thing i dont get is that the very second someone deletes, or even worse creates another usernam, no matter how good they may be thier stats immediately mean nothing and never will!

So many culd be great players, but no-one will ever know after that!

OH!....great, so now we get another thrilling two weeks of pointless challenges until the next reset!

spinner makes a good point about never really knowing a players true ability because of resetting/deleting, and i agree that greatness is measured over time as opposed to 100-300 games.

People have differing opinions in regards to true_legend, and to be honest i found him slightly annoying when we played, but only because he complained on most shots he missed (I never told him). That's just personal to me, i like to play people who don't take the game too seriously, and if they do miss a shot it's all in a days work. Saying that he is a very good player! If he wants to reset fair game, but he would be an even better player if he learned how to lose a few games without running for the changing room.

So how could you deter people from resetting?

How about being rewarded for not resetting an account? An example would be a few tournaments only open for players with 1000 games played or more. Another idea would be a chat room only open for members with 1000 games played or more. I think this second idea would give some members the incentive not to reset an account, and as a bonus you would also cut down on the a/s/l crowd that tends to annoy people more interested in gameplay.

What about only being able to re-set your account a certain amount of times. Three for example would fine.

But what you say is true. It's pathetic and shows little sportsmanship.

I just treat players with a little more respect when they have a good track record over a decent amount of games, and it would be good to reward this in some way.

I don't mind people resetting, that's what it's there for. Much better than deleting!

I totally agree with ya about the room,...i hate *asl* with a passion, i'd be in there all the time, gr8 idea!

Well if you get rid of the reset button after 3 resets we back to square one with people deleting again!
