I was just wondering why nick has made it like that, because the muted guests rule works well on snooker, but because they can talk on here, it makes the mods a lot more work.

Whats everyone else think?

Yep i agree to remove the chat ability from guests would cause much less agro for the mods and give guests more incentive to sign up.

it is something that will be reviewed in the future,i would personally like to see guests being muted also.

well seeing as us members can ignore them i dont really care tbh, i see what you mean though with the more work for moderators.

but i dont feel it makes that much of a difference because if they wanted they could make a profile and still abuse the system so theres no real point.

hahaha martin, lol well coming from a guest point a view, i see a lot of guests on here, and sometimes i go on as a guest when hiding from people, but at the same time i've gotten sooo many stupid pm's or main chat comments from guests...i'm torn!

I disagree, Let them chat, I think chat is a more important part of funkypool, funkysnooker is more about game play.

Funkypool has a considerable amount of guests logging on every day, much more than funkysnooker. So i think it's worth a short trial at least.

Many more people know how to play pool, than snooker, so that instantly attracts more people. But the problems with more people (and nobody will disagree with me now) is that the site can become (and is) an attraction for internet perverts, and other shady people. Its not just me, lots of users have been in the chat rooms and seen guests advertising various parts of their body for others to view, this site is ment to be for all ages, and currently i would not let any young person on becuase there are some twisted guests.


I apologise for some of the words i have used in the post above but i could not think of any "lighter" words to use to address this problem.

yea gatorade,s point is spot on,to much shady people going on as guests and causing abuse and worse,i dont think letting them in there own room would even be a good idea,it could give the site a bad name to any unsuspecting guests just logging on for a normal chat,if you wana talk to people i say become a member,or if you want to be private and have your own games with out talking to people be a guest.

Now this is what bugs me, i've mentioned this before and got no joy the way gatorade has?

I think the whole guest chat room is shady as! The only time i use it is for amusement value, ie some of the really offensive things ppl come out with can be funny from a 3rd person view, if ya want to play pool become a member and use the chat facilty becoming a member offers you, if ya dont want to spend 5 minutes logging ya details onto funkypool then i think they should only get a guest version of the game.

I just depends how bad things are at the time i think Mcq...

... and lets face it its pretty bad ta the moment!

it should be like it is on snooker, the gameplay over there is alot better!-by this i mean you don't get the silly PM's and you don' get the abuse spat at you in the chat room's.

i totaly agree with gatorade the site is full of perverted people offering there body to the young and innocent, muting the chatting ability for the guest's i think would filter the site and make it a more clean and happy enviroment instead of getting constant abuse and PM's asking for asl ect.

i also believe that it would be better if they can only log-on for half hour per day- to prevent them logging back on there IP gets locked for 24 hour's, i think it would be better it would make more guest's sign up and it would give the site a better reputation, not that it need's a better one
