i am writing this thread to ask how many people would like the return of the " marathon tournies" maybe do one every week? one week it will be UK then US 8 and 9 ball, games would be first to 5, 7, 9 then mayb 11 final or however but i miss the marathon tournament's i am a better player in bigger matches so i would like to see a return of the marathon

post your thoughts on what you think but, i want it back

wat acutally is a marathon torny how does it work lolz

it's the same as a tournie but the games are longer

i.e atm its first to 2 in a marathon it would b first to 3 or 4
and final would b 5-6

I'm well up for that, especially at weekends...

However (i know you're all expecting this!) I'd also like to see the return of the lightning tournaments.

1 minute invite, 2 minute game limit, 10 second shot..

Don't recall this site having a lightening tournament?

I used to really enjoy the marathon tournaments, love love to see them return.

lightning tournament, never heard of it... but it sound's good, i hope nick takes both of these and atleast put's one of the tournament's in place

Do remember the marathon tournaments, back in the days when UK pool was the only one there was and tournaments were every three hours, so every tournament had its own name, Monday Breakfast tournament, Monday Evening tournament, etc. Every Saturday there was a marathon tournament where the q-finals were best of 5, the semis were best of 7, and the final was best of 9. A real marathon I'd say, but I never knew cos I was never online at the weekends.

Bring back the marathons, is all I'll say

You're all making me feel old by saying you can't remember the Lightning Tourneys!

Last time it was spoken about the alternating game tourney was supposed to be up and coming, so who knows!

There was a great debate about whether games should alternate in each round (best of 3 = 3 different games) or each round...

Thoughts now?

It would have to be all 3 games in one match!! I think this would make it more fare!!!

yeah do that or make it one marathon tourney a day with different game types

spinner i was signed up before tournaments took place on here, there simply hasn't been a lightning tourny.

I'd just like to see a little variation in the tournys, i've got bored of them and very rarely enter them nowadays a bit of change would probs make me enter a few more.

And i'd definately enter a UK 8 ball marathon tourny if there is to be one.

Squeezy - you're obviously only thinking about the site-scheduled tourneys...

yeh agreed again squeezy i dont bother doing tournaments no more because ive won so many and there is no variation, marathon tourny now and again would be nice, i would like to see an all-round tourny where all three games are involved.

yea i agree with cool_dude there a tourny were all three games invovled sounds a good idea to me

I'd love the alternate tournament because that would require skill for each game not just the one..

I play all three games myself and i've joined a clan off the forum called the "All Rounder" and i love it, it's so much more fun mixing the games together!
