An autoboot feature for when the mods arent there. Mods handle situations better than an auto boot. But for the times they arent there, it needs controlled.

I think your right the filter needs serious updating. Filtering out .com's etc as oppose to turning them into live links would help to.

The auto-boot feature could certainly be tightened up, meaning an IP ban. I know that sounds harsh, but it would only be a temporary measure untill reviewed by a mod.

However automation can never replace moderation, yet it it is a useful tool and deterrent. Updating the system to simply deny the post (as with the forums) rather than allow it with ***'s would be a start.

It has been suggested before that mods should have the ability to be invisible, however i suggest that they should always be invisible in chatrooms.

I would expect this to make thier time more efficient, and easier, and they would still be availiable to contact via the "find mod" system if people need them.

Edit - i've just remembered that one of the "whiteboard" sites i use regularly at work utilises an automatic 3 day ban if an email address or link is posted. No warning, no tolerance. A much better situation

As for not knowing what goes on when there's no mods, we do.

I often log in as a guest to monitor the chat room with my 'squeezy' username in members bar. Same thing can be used to check on complaints about users in game rooms, go on a different name and watch.

Some people actualy listen to users more than mods so this can difuse any situations or stop swearing + spamming etc. failing this I can easily change users and boot them as i've seen the offence myself.

With regards to an auto boot I think it would result in a lot of innocent users being booted. For example mistyping things would boot you, and also when talking on pm to someone u know wont be offended u get booted, its not really offenive language if nobody is offended.

I can see the benefits of it but I think it would annoy a lot of people who dont spam and swear constantly.

Mods shouldn't always be invisable. An option to would be very good but always would mean nobody could see me and then no1 will talk to me and i'll get lonely As stated on many threads, we're real people, not robots, and also like to enjoy the good features of the site too, such as the wonderful people you get to talk to

Squeezy, when you go on as a guest or non-mod account do you find more offensive language than on a mod account... bet you do

And when you see the offence do you go in the room or just boot from where you are?

It tends to be pretty much the same actualy. There are some users that act differently depending on whether a mod is there but guests tend to act the same.

The action taken depends on the offence. If I see racism they will be booted immediately regardless of where my 'squeezy' name is. If they swear once or twice but aren't doing it aimed at someone I tend to enter the room as a mod and ask them again to stop swearing before booting them (if they continue to swear)

What i wonder is how does squeezy do it.... moniter the chat rooms as a guest while getting 19 runouts beating any pro that dares enter is room get virtuoso then i take it lol

Just thought i'd put this in here, today in members bar, the usual bunch of filth and vermin perverts who sit in there all day every day where at it again, talking about vibrators and what not (i know you'll edit that) and i was wondering how much longer they were gonna be aloud to continue cause a certain bunch are taking things to far, i didn't send a complaint because i said a few words in the heat of the moment but my point is something needs doing and im making you aware of whats now happening on a daily occurence, i mean do these ppl even come here to play the game, or just to chat about the size aof there willies and boobs and also whether they have shown them on cam?

Just so you know next time you speak to me i will probley be calmer cause right now im absolutley fuming! THEY MAKE ME SICK!

i caught the end of it. It is a usual bunch, unlike u 1eye ive not really fallen out with them (yet) but you are right. You would think coz its regulars they would know better.

i told some 1 to stop swearing the other day they fought i was an undercover mod and they stopped

Unfortuantly scaley they don't, im not completley innocent in it all, although i did watch my launguage cause of the time of day, but i disagree with the tone of conversation they use and i challenged them as they're were lot's of younger users online! There reply wasn't so much the discusion i was looking for and all they could do was shout and swear, which being the adult i had to laugh at, just surprise me that one of them is 36 year old and calls kids names!

The mods are doing all they can and i have spoken to them about this matter, and they know about it, that's all we can do!

The more ppl like yourselves who regularly comment on that behaviour, and use 'send complaint' to highlight it to admin in the absense of mods, the quicker these people are rooted out and banned.

I've never seen you swear 1_eye, and doubt you often do, but please remember the time of day is irrelevant, as ppl from all around the world log in- so there are always kids in.

True martin, and as i said in my earlier post, i would of sent a complaint to admin, but i said a few nasty word in the heat of the moment in which i am very sorry for. To be honest ppl iv been a little out of sorts recentley, lot's of work to do and what not!
Not that that is an excuse, as for dumb and dumber (i think a few might know who im talking about), i shall be keeping an eye out for them (excuse the pun!) Keep up the good work chaps!

i think there is more of a problem in members than in the chat room at times. Squeezy can log on as a guest in chat room but not in member so my suggestion in another thread would come in handy here.

Monitor all chat rooms from the staff office so nobody knows ur around. If this is possible to do. Invisibility would be great too like hollow man, alright im going to bed now as my ideas are getting poorer by the min! first ones good though
