Hey
Well i have an interview tomorrow for woolworths and i am wondering if there is any genuine tips you can give me for it as its my first 1 to 1 interview. Its for a christmas post which can lead to a permanent job and i am really nervous. I got good grades at GCSE level and i am going to take my record of acheivement to impress even more.
All help would be appreciated, i really need this job as i need some money and my dad is starting to say no when i ask him for some lol, "saying the usual get a job etc".

Haha... Seriously, when we are recruiting, as does almost everyone, its the little things that count. Personal hygene is what displays an attention to detail. Clean under the fingernails, make sure the shoe's are clean etc.
As for the interview, walk straight in and offer to shake thier hands, even across a table. This shows confidence and will make you relax even more if they are taken by surprise.
Remember anyone can learn the "right" answers parrot-fashion, show some individuality. Make it clear that even though some things may not be your personal views, you will respect company policy (thats a good guideline for working life too!)
Dont be put off if there is a question you cant answer right away. "I'll have to think about that" sound a lot better than the Umm-er, wel hmmm brigade!
Hope that helps!
Most importantly, dont be shy! even if you are!

everything above is great advice
sit straight. dont fumble and look them in the eye, good facial expression and mannerism is important in retail and show a willingness to learn
Speak Clearly and keep away from the 'ums and arrs' when a question may prove not so easy to answer, ask them if they can re phrase what they mean or ask them to ask again, it gives you chance to gather your thoughts.
Good luck!

Sorry Chav_h8r2, but thats a favourite method of mine! If a candidate doesn't have the wit to sit down after the introductions they aint gonna be much use!
Walk in, shake hands, and sit down ready for buisness...

good luck!
a favorite trick of mine is to tick the chair right in under the desk when your finished. The next guy will spend 30 seconds awkwardly trying ro squeeze into the gap, messing his whole interview with any luck!
