The low quality, remove loop and rewind strategies don't stop the sky advert from crippling my game anyway. The adverts are designed to be as unobtrusive as possible, apparently, which to be honest is utter nonsense, with the total capitulation of my computer when it appears. It seems to be the same case with the euro millions advert. My advice is either contact nick, or get yourself an advert blocker, like I am trying to do.

Use IE7 lads... I've said it many many times.

You dont have to install software to block the ads, because (obviously) thats just making things worse by adding yet another program to the mix!

The simplest option to sort out any system with any browser is to simply disable flash, that way you simply cant have any problems!

Edit - i know you meant well Mach3, but the ads aren't Nicks problem.

When they can run fine and cause no problems on old systems (as stated many times before) then it cant be anything to do with the ads or the website..

Have you checked all the known issues?

ATI gfx drivers, Nero, Firefox, Adobe Flash etc etc

A long standing debate this one is.

I really dont know what your doing to Firefox to make it unstable, but round here it works fine for all kind of uses.

Well Firefox just simply doesn't work as a browser.

It cant render pages properly, and doesn't shut down properly (look which processes are still running after closing it) and, whilst it doesn't crash itself, is so abomnably insecure it soon lets malware do the job of making things unstable...

By all means carry on if you;re happy though!

Anyways, as aloways if you're having lag problems post a few details and i will do my best to help if i can..

Well, i dont have flash installed in Firefox, just a bare install, so cant help there i'm afraid.

I believe it was in extensions, where you could disable it, but i havn't done it (obviously) for ages.

Sorry to those who have "read it all before", but regarding IE7 etc - I work for the Govt and am involved in network security - tested IE7 from the first beta and have found it so stable that all machines were updated to Beta 2. Anyone caught installing Firefox on a networked machine would be in deep trouble as anyone involved in !

However i'm being too serious again...

If its your own computer then security isnt an issue, so as i said do what you want and enjoy - just dont try to blame other people, sites etc if things start to go wrong

LOL yeah firefox is an alternative browser attemting to live off the Mozilla name (despite the fact IE is the "real" mozilla) Truth is that the windows version is simply a very poorly written piece of software...

And Scaley - I've been a programmer for longer than i care to remember so what do you think?

But back to the subject. I spent over a year unable to play on my home system because of lag, so i'd be delighted to put what i learned during that time to good use help anyone having problems.

Post your setup and lets see!
