hi, this is my first thread in this forum and i apologize in advance about my english 'cause it's not my language.

Yesterday i've noticed an error by playing, every time i shoot, when the balls stop comes a popup (from java, is not a spyware or something similar):

APPLET ALLERT
"The applet is attempting to invoce the java/lang/System.gc() operation"

Then i have 3 choices:
ALLOW DISALLOW STOP APPLET

This happen every shot, mine or from the opponent.
It seems that the problem can be generated from the last update (i see that the last upgrade is from 12 september) but i'm not sure....
I've found nothing on java site and i have this problem only on Funkypool.

HELP ME !

Thx

Have you tried using a different Java VM?

A help guide is here : http://www.funkypool.com/viewTopic.do?topicid=7052

I've launched the javascript console on Firefox, and when the prompt error comes up i've catched the error:

snipped javascript code

I'm not a programmer, but i see (the bold part) that it comes a request (the confirmationPrompt).
I guess that this confirmation prompt is a new feature about the last java upgrade.

Is it possible to adjust this request on your site ? Can you ask it to your programmers ?

Adjusting this could possibly affect the rest of us. That is unless i've read it wrong.

Can you visit here and copy your system details (ie the whole contents of the white box)?
http://www.funkypool.com/help.do?section=playing_problems

Also you should have an option to allow everytime which you could enable. All the game is trying to do at that point is to attempt to free up some memory.

You should be able to ignore the JavaScript error on firefox. This is basically Internet Explorer specific code to show a confirmation prompt before exiting the game.

Thx for the answers, first of all here's the "white box verdict":

Your java properties:
Java version: 1.5.0_06
Java vendor: Sun Microsystems Inc.
Operating system: Windows XP
VERDICT: success

I use Firefox, but i don't know how to ignore the javascript errors, i've searched in the tools/options menu but i've only found two flags about the activation/deactivation of java or javascript...

P.s.
Don't worry mr mcquiston, i don't want affect anybody's game, i think that i'm not the only one with this problem, take a look here http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=763629&tstart=45

Nope, no changes our end. Maybe something was patched automatically on your PC (eg Firefox or Java).

I'm very surprised you got an error on the check page. It's a very simplet applet just to check Java is installed. Do you still have the problem on the check page?

Anyway, glad it's working for you now!
