I was thinking about the families of those who were lost this morning. My thoughts are with them.

Of course my thoughts are going to the families of the victims of this murder.
No one deserved this. And massive amounts of respect are going out to the emergency services that risked and lost their lives on that day.

i watched a good documentary on th wtc today and it was horrific. you just don't realise the total mass of destruction and devestation on that level sat back at home.
they have also brought out a film of what happened to the wtc and i think i might go and watch it. Its either going to be fantastic or very bad taste. i cant make my mind up.
i cant believe it was 5 years today it seems to have gone so quick.

yeh it was horrific, but americas reaction to it was just as bad if not worse, they gave al quaeda exactly what they wanted by invading iraq, so far this "war on terror" has killed 45 000 people, so yes those terrorist priks wer evil, america in my eyes is much worse.
i dont mean to start an argumnt or to disrespect the families or the dead in anyway, im just sugesing that the media gets a sense of perspective

I don't see America as worse than ppl who deliberately set out to butcher as many men, woman and children as they possibly can.
But I agree that America, and the UK, have given them what they want. They wanted a Jihad against the west on a global scale. They committed one terrible act against the US, and now they have exactly that.
By invading Afghanistan and Iraq, we've now given them a central battlefield, inflamed those previously moderate, and given them a common cause by which they feel they can justify the slaughter of innocent people all around the world.
We've played straight into their hands.

Good point Martin.
America (or maybe just Bush the idiot) wanted to react straight away, and I think he saw the nuclear weapons in Afghanistan as an excuse to be honest.
Now british and US soldiers die often from car bombings etc...
I saw this thing yesterday on the TV, and it was a british-born muslim who had trained with Al Qaeda and was cousins with one of the London bombers. The reporter asked him how the wars and terrorism could end...according to him the only way was if we all converted to muslims and accepted Allah as our god.
So it doesn't look like anything will stop.

america sold arms to russia to fight the afghans and theres more too it as far as modern history goes.
America are ruthless and backhanded and have the government of the US to blame for whats happening
Bush is a waste of skin, did anyone see Farenheit 9/11 last nite? he skipped anti terrorist meetings which could have prevented 9/11
It wont surprise me if the bloke gets assasinated

theres a documntary about bush being asasinated in the cinemas soon looks realy good. oh and america sold weapons to the afghans to fight the russians, usa and russia were enemys at the time. so all the weapons the taliban are using agianst the usa and britain are american. same as the iraqi insurgents, bck in the 70s iraq was at war with iran and america was selling weapons to both sides whilst claiming it was trying to promote peace

thats it ison thanks for correcting me, i knew it was something underhanded, goes to show how its backfired, maybe they ought to think why the middle east hate americans, and who is ultimately to blame while the good american and british and iraqi/afghans etc are stuck in the middle of the mess the US government has made.
Time for peace talks i say, none will back down when they have weapons, perhaps the Pen will be mightier than the sword?

i dont think thatl work either after all ther have been almost constant peace talks in israel/palestine for almost 40 years, my solution is this, instead of war and all the needless dying, the two leaders should just be stuck in a ring with asorted weapons thrown in, think about it it makes sense if anyone should die for political decisions it should be the polititians. and itd be great to watch bush and saddam in a ring, winner gets baghdad

Pointless conversations do my head in! The war is not meant to be won, it is meant to be continuous. Hierarchical society is only possible on the basis of poverty and ignorance. This new version is the past and no different past can ever have existed. In principle the war effort is always planned to keep society on the brink of starvation. The war is waged by the ruling group against its own subjects and its object is not the victory over either Eurasia or East Asia, but to keep the very structure of society intact
