i am currently having really bad lagg since this sky ad has appeared. its really messing up my computer is it happening to anyone else?

i have tried everything going. i have no images on the homepage or game window all ads are blocked except the phantom sky ad. i havent blocked the others they did that on their own. i have the newest java. The ppl i have spoken to in the game are having the same symptoms as me - struggling to shoot and media player goes crazy also making it sound like a scratched cd all from the sky ad.

LOL well if you have media player going then thats the culprit!

Always make sure you have nothing else running when playing, especially things like media player or instant messaging programs like MSN or Yahoo..

The sky ad is just a flash animation like all the rest. People can blame anything they want but its simply a fact and thats that.

Have you remembered to do a full flush of the cache (now often called history) after diasabling animations or plugins? If not, then the ads already there will still be loaded...

i have to disagree. it is the sky advert its messing alot of ppl up. there has never been a problem with media player before and it only jumps when the sky ad is on.

i have cleared everything but i dunno how to disable the ads i only did it once by accident :)

Well without knowing your browser its hard to give detailed instructions, but geerally its tools/options/advanced/and look for "play animations2 and disable it. That way only the first frame loads.

You can also look in the plugins section and disable flash.

Also, you can right-click and either stop or lower the quality of the animation. In your case simply disabling the sound may work.

i am using firefow - unstable i know but it has the biggest balls lol.

will have a bash but im not very computer friendly

If you're using Firefox your probably infested with spyware and viruses anyway! Awfully insecure and unstable but its your choice!

In that case, go to tools/options/content and tick the box to load images from originating site only. That should help, but just make sure the flash plugin is disabled..

i have found another way i can block the ads if i can get their address.... now i know this the phantom sky ad has not appeared! its haunting me and it knows my every move

yh it happens to me its so annoying the sky lag has 2 go

I think Firefox calls plugins "extensions", but i refuse to spend any more time getting to know such a poor piece of software!

I highly reccomend moving to IE7...

Please remember that lag of this sort is nothing to do with Funkypool, i have an old 350Mhz laptop and the ad doesn't cause any lag on that, its purely down to how you have your system setup..

well your gonna have to come to wales and set me system up.

i dont use internet explorer coz all the adverts come up but if you can tell me how to block them i'll gladly change.

i totally agree about firefox i'll be playing in a tourny and the window will just vanish. then it thinks firefox is still running and i cant log in on internet explorer until i do a restart. theres a lot of swearing when that happens

When Firefox crashes like that, you can right-click the task bar and select "task manager", then click on the "processes" tab and look for Firefox (it will still be there since its so poorly writen it never closes!) and highlight it, then click the "End Process" button...

As for IE - why not use it just for Funkypool! I use IE7 to play and IE6 or Opera for normal browsing.

Simply go to tools/options/advanced, and un-tick the "Show images" and "play animations" boxes..
