I Know someone that had AVG free anti virus and STILL got lots of probs!(dunno if the scan explore will be a prob)Anways some fella (done computers for yrs too) told him that anything like that thats free isnt worth it especially AVG. What ive been told is ..if ya have a firewall built in (switched on) and an Anti virus system that has its own firewall(and thats on too) they sorta bounce of each other and dont work properly.I Defo think Norton keeps everything in check.
(watch..lol bet this is where i get allkinds of probs now! lol)

Well, i dont think i need to repeat my history with computers yet again, so i'll just get to the point.
Dont whatever you do use Norton Antivirus! I have tried them all and nothing comes close to AVG for detection. Sure, its not as good at cleaning an infected system, but it is by far the most up to date antivirus around.
AVG commonly updates up to 3 times a day, whilst i have seen Norton stay static for up to a month!
What you say about the firewalls is right though Paula, if you have XP, use the windows firewall and if you have any other "security" software, make sure if it has a firewall that its turned off..

i always thought that windows firewall was rubbish. i use panda which was recommended by a friend, and so far its updating daily. ive had no problems with it, aand ive also used AVG which was good for a long time but then my old computer got a virus and AVG didnt help...
btw, im not trying to undermine what you're saying spinner, im just relating my personal experience.

Yea, internet explorer is pretty much screwed. Microsoft has admitted its prone to everything and crabs too. Firefox seems like concorde as soon as you install it.

It is impossible that you caught a virus through using funkypool. In most cases a virus is caught through email messages, using chat software or downloading pirated software.
Ensure you have up to date virus software, and run a complete scan.
Regarding being logged out this can be due to a poor connection (possibly caused by the virus) or by using file sharing software which hogs your whole internet connection which does not allow the funkypool game to connect to the server.
