What do people think of the 3 consecutive fouls results in a defeat rule in US 9 ball?

Over the last couple of days I have won a game in this manner and had nothing but abuse.

I suppose it is a bit sneaky but if those are the rules, why not play to them? And I see a lot of people just hammering the balls around, hoping to pot the 9 ball by fluke. Is that not just as bad?

i dont play straight for the 3 foul i wont intentionally snooka them first time but then if they foul i carry on. i try to pot instead of snooka but if i can do them n they already on fouls then i just go for them

If they foul twice i nearly always try to snooker, wont try it before 2 fouls tho, seems pointless anyways

Good point. I think there is a bit of a distinction between setting out initially to win by the 3 foul rule, but it's different if your opponent has fouled twice and there is a good chance of a snooker.
