Just want to queiry whether a golden break in 9 ball should also be classed as a 9 ball run out.

For example what wud the difference be in potting the 9 straight away and the potting a ball of the break and the combo-ing the 9?

good point but then most peoples golden break and run out count would be the same, i dont know might be the rules or something like that, maybe a mod/admin has the answer as they always do

hmm, I prefer it as a serparate achievment, there's a hell of a lot more skill involved in a real run-out and the success would be undermined should the reward be given to golden breaks,

Yes Emma for 9-ball you're right, it is a run-out.

Run-outs in 8-ball are basically the same as running the rack in 9-ball, so are a better comparison...

I get your point magic but how many of the run outs achieved are genuine skillful runouts? most are due to combos on the 9 - well most of the ones i have seen are anyway

And for the record, I am not saying that all combinations on the 9 are flukes!

And in my opinion, a runout is a runout. The perfect runout through all the balls is nice but its just as effective as a combo on the 9!

And i agree that a golden break is a runout on 9 ball.

A perfect runout, potting every ball, is called running the rack, and is a different achievement in 9-ball. Maybe its should be recorded too?
