Hello Forum Posters/readers.......
Right this thread will hopefully prove a point (a friendly one lol). Me and Ste (mr guevara) are sorta having a debate about a word, and miss steph agree's with Ste and Si (tidnab) agree's with me, so ur opinion might help us all !!

The word is either Dived or Dove.....IE:

He dove into the pool..

He dived into the pool..

So what would YOU say it was? if you think its dove, then put Ste/dove
if ya think its dived, put Paula/dived.....

Thanks

Both are right depends which context you are using them in.

It's dived. Dove is used too, but it's just slang.

The only two real meanings of dove are as in the bird, and also a pacifist, mediator or peacemaker.

lfc tom dove is wrong. regardless of what n e 1 uses
this below is correct

ONE easy way to solve this, before you post here is to check in an uptodate version of
The Concise Oxford Dictionary

DOVE is - Kinds of Pigeon, The Holy spirit:type of gentleness or innocense, messenger of good news or peace.....kinds of cranes bill (taken form the book itself)

DIVE (its a long one in the dictionary but starts off)
Plung head foremost into water .......and so on

so therefore a person who dives into water, the past tense is 'DIVED'
