no......sort ur system out b4 u blame this site, no ad has ever slowed me down only thing that does slow me down is installed scans for my computer (when they start wotking), but the protection of my comp far outweighs the result on a game or 2

I havn't had any problems with any of the adverts lately (only when my comps been on ages) but other than that its fine..i suggest deleting cookies and temp files from your net pages to help run the site smoother. other than that can't think, sorry!

It was very loosely mentioned in one of the other threads, but there are apparently some issues with macromedia and some ATI GFX card drivers. If you have an ATI card take a look to the update site to check if there are any conflicts...

Not that i know off, certain firewalls can block ads alltogether but i dont what ones or whatever (remember ads help the site). There is no way that i know off to get it displayed less...only way i know is to ask Nick and do what he did with the Orange add and have it displayed less. Sorry it wasn't much of a help

Why not just turn animations off in your browser tread?

Which do you use?

If you are using Firefox i'd have to suggest changing as it is notoriusly slow and struggles to render anything but the simplest of pages.

It wont be just you Tread, but remember its nothing to do with funkypool, i think thats what the others meant (and they're right).

You didnt mention which browser you were using, but assuming its IE6 (the most common), go to Tools/Options/Advanced - scroll down to the Multimedia section, and untick "Play Animations".

Hope that helps..

NP Tread, would be cool if you could post back to let us know if that worked or not.

BTW - unlike an ad blocker, simply disabling the animations shouldnt affect funkypools ad-hits, since the first frame should be displayed static.

(if not, its the advertisers fault for making a non-standard animation)

Oh well, you could untick all the multimedia and images, which woud definitely work but would also make browsing very dull!

And Magic - I swear AT Mozilla! LOL!
