This simple question has been asked many times, and other than the suggestion of Mod's having anaymous accounts (excellent idea i think) there has never been an answer!

More than the sheer nonsense of it, it means you loose the stats you had, and the new ones mean nothing unless you keep note of the origionals and figure them out.

no m8 ive only got 1 account ok i had a other 1 4days ago but i want to start clean i like getting my stats up its fun lol ive started again about 10 times now

when you start youre not going to be very good, and you lose the first few games, and you lose more games when you start, which means your win-loss ratio doesnt look as good as it could if you had started at your present ability. resetting is cheating really but this is just a game

Along with being cheating, it also makes a mockery of your stats. Surely its more fun if you're into that kinda thing, to try to improve your original stats?

I think the sooner the term for being a "newbie" is set to a 6 month period, rather than a paltry number of games, the better. Then people would be less likely to abuse the system..

But anyways thats been well discussed and Nick took it on board so guess we'll just hae to wait and see

I'm still a newbie on US 8 ball, and lookin at how I play, I should be a newbie. I've had this account years so a 6 month period shouldn't make me sound better than I am.

I've got 3 accounts, this one, one that was anonymous and one for a good win ratio to see how i'd improved. Don't use the other 2 now tho. I don't see any possible need to have more than 3. If I want to see how i've improved or got worse in the future, one of the current accounts will get deleted.

Not everyone feels the same way you do spinner, some players might find it more fun to build stats over 2 accounts, if they get banned thats there problem not yours!

I personally think one account is best.

People delete names all the time after starting out with good intentions, and it makes the forum look ugly with 'deleted user' stamped all over the place. Multiple accounts can also be used for the wrong purposes, such as getting around the boot after being abusive, and also cheating!

I will say this, there are a good few people who like to play on another account, and they cause no trouble at all. All they want is some peace and quiet, but you will never know about it because it’s not advertised.

Thats the whole point of a debate. As pool_life said, there are plenty of people out there happily using multiple accounts, but they dont shout about it so no-one knows. I'm only trying to understand the mentality of letting everyone know, which in turn invalidates the stats you may build on the new account.

And, for the record, its not how many accounts you HAVE, its how many you HAVE HAD thats the issue...

It doesnt "bother" me, I grew out of that kinda thing a looong time ago, i'm just interested in understanding the thought processes behind it.

I reiterate - as usual this subject descends into childish name calling etc because no-one can answer the simple question of WHY?

I don't have more than 1 account and i never have had more than 1.

I like to get all my stats on 1 name so it looks better, some others aren't that bothered and play on 2 accounts. (not at the same time)
