I keep getting a message up saying:

'Sorry, an error has occurred (this has been logged on the server). Please log in and try again'.

Logging in again doesn't seem to be helping. I've been a member for too long to just stop playing . What is at fault for the problem?

Haha. I've been farting a lot so maybe that's fixed it? Na I've downloaded the new Java without thinking it would help and that seems to have made it all fine and dandy. I blame the missus for having a rubbish laptop personally.
