LOL this is a joke right?

Learn to do a double. Its MUCH more challenging, rewarding, and actually requires some skill...

Otherwise, just read back through the forums, the cheat is very well documented...

True! Has to be a joke. Ty - if u learn the GB, let me know, so that I remember not to enter any of ur games m8.

I know the shot, as do about 50% now, and it's not complicated, but most are too sporting (and wud be too embarrassed) to use it.

its all trial and error GB's are never guaranteed even if you do find the right spot and do the same everytime. Its more 'chance' than skill.

I break off half way up the semicircle (on the line) and hit the top yellow on the opposite side.........sometimes it works but mostly it doesnt, but im not that bothered

errr excuse me tids....but i dont call over 100 GB'S chance, yes sometimes its random, but it has been figured out by the few out there.

I dont go 4 the GB anymore, its unsporting, and makes you look an idiot if the white rolls in.

This feels like it could go nasty. Let me just say that I agree with getting rid off the golden break, like we've discussed in so many threads. I do not criticise anyone who tries to achieve them in the meantime, especially since I am one of them. In other words let's not make gb's personal, It really wouldn't be smart not to go for them at this stage....hence the problem.

ok mquiston ill re phrase it...............when i do them then its more chance than skill

often my white does go in off the break so perhaps iam doing it wrong, Its just wen i see them done i take note of how they did them, but who knows? maybe it should be broke from elswhere, ne way no worries

the way i see it is that the golden break is like a incentive to give the pack a good whacking when its your break....
it means not so many people are just rolling the white up to the pack as some lame exscuse for a break.

and in my experience i probably get a golden break about 1 in 50 (if im lucky)...... BUT, the balls get spread well and if you manage to pot a colour you've got the
Opportunity to go for the run-out!!

adds another dimension to the game i think.

Which begs the question, why not just adopt the real life snooker rules and have two balls return to the baulk half?

Not to make this negative, but remember the GB is and always should be there in 9 ball, as its a legitimate win, so the people who are GB junkie can play there to thier hearts content!

This topic keeps rearing its head. I'll just paste this from an earlier thread, cos it sums it up for me:

"wanted to prove that this shot requires no skill....and it's just taken me a total of 20 mins to train my 6 year old niece (who has never played this game before, to make a GB once in every eight attempts. Give her a day or two, she will be at the standard of our specialists on here. Lot of skill required aint there? A six year old can do it in just over quarter of an hour."

Can u see the same six year old pulling off a run out or a 7balling? She can't even work out the angles. But put a ball on the D and smack it at another ball - no problem

Well said Martin.

I had a wee go, and its easy to get 10 in a row in practice, got up to 18 at one point (in between waiting for someone to join my game!)

Maybe Nick will let us know the proposed solution (which i wouldnt think is very far away) as this topic is recurring with embarrasing frequency.
